Good point about competition. However, SEC won’t let there only be one company, so the Uber Lyft duopoly will continue to exist.
But I suspect both companies will inch up their rates together under investor pressure to show the numbers. Market share matters, but now that they will be public companies, the revenue matters as well now.
Are we basing this question on the CEOs or just whether Uber is better or worse than it was in the past?
I hear drivers all make crap money now, so purely based on that, I'd think most drivers are hating on Dara. (and missing Travis) I had the impression that drivers liked Dara and his style, but I am not a driver, so I will reserve my comments.
Right. There’s no point of getting drivers to sign up unless there are riders. Then again, it’s always a chicken nor the egg situation. I guess they decided drivers have to come first.
As expensive as it is to live and or even stay overnight in San Francisco, this is becoming a big problem for service providers and gig economy workers. The whole city has priced out people who do not make $100K and up.
I have heard that people do sleep in their cars. This is actually becoming a problem onto itself, where workers do not bother driving home and end up sleeping in their vehicles. This is being grouped together with the homeless problem in San Francisco. (That's the irony. People who aren't homeless are being treated like homeless .)
Wait, so you are saying that they appear and disappear depending on your situation. I wonder if it's a location thing or availability thing or what.
- Does it appear/disappear in the same location, say your home?
- Do you see any patterns on when they appear/disappear. Say on the weekends when it's super busy? or what about day vs. night? UberPool disappears in most cities after 11PM.
Yes, but how else would they pay billions to their top employees?
Raising so soon? Deviating away from their usual strategy, i.e. undercut every other business at a billion dollar loss, until you dominate the market.
You know this exists, right? At least it does now in Colorado.
It is called Blazed or something
And it almost makes sense. Lazy potheads having weed delivered. They covered this in Dave Chappell’s Half Baked movie.
"thrown into lakes." It's funny to imagine those charger dudes, just speechless standing by the pond, not knowing what to do. "umm..."
Taking a Lyft ride is as ubiquitous as brushing our teeth in the morning. Next headline:
"A boy falls off the swing after taking Uber to the playground."
I am pretty sure yes. I think I saw it somewhere. I think it's when they created a cheaper version of UberX in Vietnam or something, they required AC.
Maybe he was lying and was perhaps embarrassed when you asked him. Did you ask him all accusingly.

Drop mic! This is SO SO SO TRUE.
Passengers will eventually catch on. How would Uber fix this problem?!
I have no friends.
I am realizing how many of these videos are out there.they all suck
Super cringe worthy.

And drive Uber in Honolulu. Not a bad idea if you can find cheap lodging.
Be safe. There are no TSAs

HAHA. Why would this be true? It makes no sense.
Can some one explain the title. I don’t get it.
