What does it take to become a FedEx or UPS driver? Do they make more money than Amazon Flex or DSPs?

I don't understand how the cancellation rate (the percentage) is calculated. Has anyone figured it out?
No, I am not stupid. I tried to do that math but it doesn't work. I know after experimenting that …
For not responding to unreasonable request!
For example, when I say NO to people asking me to hurry, speed, and break laws.
Ridiculous.
There are lots of chicken-or-egg scenarios that we have to play out. For example, drivers-or-riders? The answer, I believe, is that the drivers came first. The greatest thing Uber did was to target high-end services (i.e. today's UberBlack) first, because they were able to get the limo drivers on board first.
DRIVERS: They recruited limo drivers with livery licenses first. These people already ran their own businesses and were already making money. Their livelihood did not depend on making money with Uber. It was an easy sell. "Just try us out." I assume there were neat promotions but i haven't been around to know what they were.
RIDERS: Once there were ample drivers, Uber started to offer its services in small areas, while making sure they can meet the demand.
On a side note: Uber also had great seeding campaigns and referral programs.
Really two things
Yeah, I'd hate to be unpatriotic, but I may not work that day. It'll be chaos and remember drivers lose money on those short trips.
I wonder if people will be more likely to tip or not.
and I gotta vote too.
Yeah. It’s a big waste of time for everybody. Let’s hope they will fix the technical glitch. For this, I’m sure Uber prefers their people to not manually be checking all the time.
Right. Forcing drivers to feel like they’re part of the team. Hoping the drivers stop complaining about Uber simply with a few stock options that will never bring us much material amount of money.
Everyone remembers the first 1-star rater. Sorry, brotha. I've had 3 in the last year, and I remember each one.
My gosh, you are way better of a human than I am. I may have ended the story at A and may never have gotten BC or D.
And that's taking a mercy on her. I could have kept driving and maxed out her credit card beyond her limits. Pre-A.
Definitely those that make you wait. There are so many annoying things about this.
- Time is money. We make no money waiting! Remember the opportunity cost!
- We may be double parked! We can get tickets waiting in loading zone or bus lanes. This regulalry happens, believe it or not!
- There are people who prey on Uber drivers that cannot find their passengers. They all claim they are the real passengers, looking for a free ride. This gets REAL bad during bar closing times that I have become a bit paranoid about this. I trust no one now.
Sit. Always sit. I've tried everything, and it's always better to sit.
One may argue, "what if you are far away from the bars and busy areas?" Still sit.
My answer? "It's because if you go to the "busy" areas, other drivers are there already. I am not saying there aren't good places to wait. I am saying that it's not worth moving to those areas, while using up fuel.
If you were taken to an area by an Uber rider, it's likely that area has other riders wanting a ride. Trust it.
Sound advice. I do the same, but I feel like it still stinks up the car.
I often drive in rural areas, and airport queues made me start smoking. It's just a nice way to calm down during a crazy day.
I have read of drivers who say they do it to meet people and potential clients. I guess they are actors or musicians or something in San Francisco. I heard their purpose for driving wasn't making money but just creating leads and opportunities through this platform.
...or at least so they said. It may just be a story. ...because it sounds kinda cool.
Now that I come to thin about it. You know, that jewler guy who made $250K a year. It doesn't take long to realize Uber got him the contacts, and he wasn't just selling jewelry out of the trunk of his car...
Washcloth under the seats.
You must save a bundle on those store-bought air fresheners. You are full of good suggestions.
Bingo. Thank you for the explanation. Now I will be able to sleep at night.
So it isn't cumulative at all.
