Hi,

Three times in the past three weeks I had to call Uber to complain that I was not reimbursed for the tolls incurred while taking passenger to their destination on the same very PA Turnpike (entering on exit 351 and exiting at various interchanges). I then have to call them and tell them amount of toll due to me, which is getting old. Application clearly shows I was on the toll road, so not sure if it is a glitch? All financial errors always end up benefiting Uber:).

Ensure to check your rides brekdown after every comleted trip on a toll road.

I am having the same problem in Texas. I think my problem is twofold; uber and toll authority. In one month my toll was $160, but Uber only paid me $37.

I noticed uber took money out of my fare for the toll, probably charged the rider as well. Uber charged the rider 16.57, I was supposed to be paid 6.57, so that means uber pocketed 10+ dollars how does that even make sense when the driver is the one that makes the transaction even happen. Uber can fix the "technical" issues with no problem. They are all scam artists that's why there support team is nothing but Indians. This is so deflating, I just moved to Florida thinking airport to Disney world or vice versa would be huge but if I'm not getting reimbursed I'm just plain getting robbed on top of being paid 40-60% from uber. I've made them so much money, uber needs to be boycotted, there needs to be an uber strike!

There was a thread on this forum that Philly drivers get paid tolls on bridges for both directions even though they only have to pay for one direction. (Passed on to customers.) I wonder if it’s related

it does happen to me from time to time. I-95 in New Hampshire for example. Uber is very good about refunding me later though. Then again, like you said, all errors will benefit them for sure.

I need help I have notices that I have not been paid for any of my toll trips dating back till may of this year.  It could be more I called and I am still waiting for them to refund me my money.  I have looked into legal help.  At this point Uber is putting me into debt and it's unfair that I have to put gas in the car and pay the tolls. They need to pay up the money that they owe us I have been driving since 2019 it could be thousands of dollars.  I see some of your comments that some of y'all got your money back but you have to check back from last month a year ago because some tolls are 65 cents and you may have not noticed

Yes I have noticed the same.

I heard Uber is currently struggling with the introduction of a new GPS and mapping systems that also calculate the tolls. They moved the mapping provider and engine, whatever that means.

Uber really should openly warn drivers on this. I can’t imagine how many unsuspecting drivers are getting boned.

What market do you drive in/experiencing this issue?

I definitely am experiencing this problem.  Initially when I reported the problem, they refunded the toll money to my Wallet  immediately.  Now they are making you wait for the refund for tolls that a driver pays for the rider's trip.  What happens when the toll refunds not returned to the driver reaches a substantial amount and the driver can no longer afford to continue  coughing up the money for new tolls, because the old ones haven't been paid?

It’s so frequent. If u don’t check earnings on each trip, u will be loosing lots of toll money. In many of my trips as well, even after driving on toll roads I was either not paid or underpaid the toll amount.

In such case, u have to figure out the difference and report it to Uber and they will reimburse u.

I know a driver who had to take Uber to small claims  court to collect back all the tolls they owe him  plus interest

Uber takes tolls from the riders and then passes them on to the driver.  No fees taken. So I don’t think they would benefit anyways. Must be honest mistake?

Unless, they are charging the fees to customers but not paying them out to drivers. Now that would be super wrong.

Correct. Any tolls incurred during ride and sometimes not incurred but assumed to be incurred by driver to get back to registered home market are charged to passenger and sent to driver without any commission. Most times system functions as intended. But I had 3 instances where tolls were not added to my trip while on major toll road. I get it that most likely the system never charged the passenger for these tolls either. Yes we can call it an honest mistake, but this honest mistake if I did not catch it would cost me real money. I have to take time from driving to calculate toll amount and call uber to get it adjusted which they do very well, but it costs me potential profits as I am not able to drive a passenger during those 5-8 minutes.

really no reason their system should have such missed as ride map clearly shows the road taken.

i even thought that maybe this happens because uber GPS assumes I am taking free road but I use Waze. I ruled it out as there is not really a free road…

I ruled it out as there is not really a free road that I could have taken without adding 30 min or so to the ride. They need to get better at taking calls like I made 3 times on same issue especially on same road and fixing it ;)

if drivers are busy calling Uber to get their $5.70 toll reimbursed they are not driving passengers thus causing longer wait times;)

Yeah. It’s a big waste of time for everybody. Let’s hope they will fix the technical glitch. For this, I’m sure Uber prefers their people to not manually be checking all the time.
