Why blockchain could kill Uber
Some interesting thoughts here. Not sure I see this happening realistically but the idea is kinda cool. https://www.forbes.com/sites/bernardmarr/2018/02/09/why-blockchain-could-kill-uber/2/#515c9c731820
Yeah I guess they kind of do take the "share" out of "rideshares" don't they... But I doubt regulators will care. The whole idea of medallions is dead.
Well we're never gonna have human-piloted flying cars. That would be a disaster. But maybe we'll have self-flying flying cars. To be honest I think that sounds safer in some ways than self-driving cars. Fewer obstacles in the air... Less unpredictability.
For crying out loud, people just want a ride. Not a theme park.
Can you go a little faster please
Did the driver get a cleanup fee at least...
Somebody has a problem...
What. You throw up "a little"? Have you ever thrown up in your life? There is no "a little". Certainly not if it is alcohol puke, which has to be the vast majority of these cases. You either throw up a whole stomach, or you don't throw up.
Damn, this is so dark man. But it's probably true. Just more corruption.
According to that gif, about half of that is in the past ~12 months. Wowza!
Trashy AF.
The quote in the title is so stupid. How can two separate competitors be buying themselves into a monopoly? Does this idiot not understand what a monopoly is????
Really horrible. However, I can't help but feel that this really shouldn't be blamed on Uber and Lyft. The medallion system was a scam from the beginning, and local governments should have made it right for these folks.
awesome? nah. big? yeah. But full of trash. Seriously, you can't walk down the sidewalk in manhattan without having to detour around piles of black trash bags. Every night. why can't you guys fix this.
"They’re already deeply embedded — literally, in the case of New York’s subway system"
Found the new yorker.
Couldn't this be said of all subway systems? Jeesh. New yorkers think the world revolves around them.
he means a car you can park in your driveway and fly around where you want. Great idea, I definitely trust all the wackos on the road enough to let them fly around their personal airplanes willy nilly.

It's plain rude to blatantly hunt for a tip. But when it's not so blatant, if they are appropriately subtle about it, then I don't care. They are making a living. I'll still tip them and give them a good rating.
Or maybe they never should have stifled the free market in the first place...
This is terrifying. That poor woman. I am impressed that she had the composure to get another car, get on the plane, and continue her journey.
Not sure how this is any different than any other driver on the road tho. Anyone could have a medical emergency at any time.
