Does my uber driver know that I requested a pool ride? Are they mad about it?
I am wondering if my Uber driver knows I requested an UberPool (the cheaper option?) instead of an Uberx. Sometimes …
A camera in the car is always a way that you can feel safe. This way people are less likely to do something bad if they think their actions are being recorded.
Well, there is a minimum that a passenger has to pay so short trips shouldn't be a problem right? It's not like I could take an Uber 2 blocks and pay $2. I think the minimum is $5 or something like that (which is worth it for only driving 2 blocks if you ask me). I could be wrong though.
Uber is already offering scooter rides via their app in some cities in the U.S.. There are 3 main players in the industry right now: Bird, Skip, and Lime. Bird and Lime both have at least $1B in funding. Skip has about 500 million. Did segways have that much funding when they first came out?
From what I understand, these scooters would NOT replace car transportation, but rather transportation that would previously been walking. It is nice for shorter distances.
Late for a meeting 10 blocks away? Grab a scooter!
Yes, definitely!! That is probably the number one thing people use when they don't feel like taking a subway. Although, sometimes the traffic is so bad I'd rather get on a crowded train...
Surge pricing is in effect both of those times so it probably doesnt matter
The biggest thing Uber is going through right now is that self-driving car crash that happened a while back. It was just released that the car actually made the decision not to stop for the pedestrian (what?). More information about the crash here..

I know drivers want to earn as much money as possible, but I think after driving for a bunch of hours in a row they should take a break to clean out their car, organize things a bit, and avoid situations like this happening in the future.
I always thought a women-only rideshare company was a little bit strange, and they would definitely be missing out on a huge market. But it's great that they do not discriminate.. must make their matching algorithm that more difficult! And I can imagine it takes longer to get paired with a driver as well.
Found an article for you: http://www.abajournal.com/news/article/14_women_accusing_drivers_of_sex_assault_ask_uber_board_to_be_released_from
This stuff is crazy.
now if only uber and lyft were so accomodating for their passengers too...
Just BE SMART!!

apparently they might add surge pricing to taxis too! wth~!
THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME!! I see it cross my street on the app and totally forget to turn. You should dispute the charge. I do that almost every time they try to charge me. It looks like they credit to my account every time.
yea i think they will, but only if you ask. they're not required to tell you but you can always try to find out on your own
Apparently Uber is partnering with Walmart to do just that - they'll deliver your groceries for you. I'm surprised I've never heard of it before, they should advertise more!

uber doesn't actually have a profit hahahaha. maybe the higher demand will make up for thte lower price
One time I was in London and my Uber didn't because my phone number was US number.
