Another good list by Angel List for "Uberpreneurs"

Apps that help drivers sell stuff while they drive

Not every driver is just a driver. Side-hustling drivers are everywhere, using their day job to meet influencers in particular industries or sell products (like jewelry!). Take Uber driver Gavin Escolar, who made $250k+ in 2015:

“It’s a salesman’s dream,” he continues. “I have 10 minutes to make an impression. Would that happen if I went door-to-door? Or if I bought tiny online ads? My way, I get quality time with quality leads. Best of all, I’m being paid as I do it. It’s like Uber is providing a base salary before I make any jewelry sales.”

This is so smart! It's like getting free business pitches to everyone who comes into your car. Only thing is, I could see people getting annoyed by this, which could lead to a lower driver rating, but who knows, just a thought.

Yes, it's actually coverage.  Very unpopular with passengers.  It's loud, annoying, and bright in their faces while they ride.

I question being able to drive a wrapped car on the Lyft or Uber platform as both forbid roof signs or magnetic advertisements on the exterior of a vehicle.

I agree with this post. Not every driver is just a driver.

We have new software that helps drivers create and make a post on a tablet or to their own cell phones.  You can make

a slideshow of post/content to share with your passengers. Anything from your driver referral code, UberEats code for free food as a thank you,

a web page of your jewelry that you sell on the side. The passengers simply take pictures of the codes they like from the tablet. No need to do a hard sell since the

tablet sells itself.  We are just getting some feedback from drivers and passengers alike to improve upon. Here is our link to our beta version site. Thank you.

Do you know, with Vugo, do drivers just get paid a flat fee for advertising? Do they have any control over the ads they display? Are there any variables to play with for the driver to try and maximize earnings? Could be fun. But if it's just a flat fee, kinda boring.

It's per impression, basically how many ads are shown. I tried it in 2016, and it was not ready for prime time.  So aweful.  It kept crashing, and the tipping feature (to tip the driver) barely worked and required the pax to enter and log into PayPal to make it happen.   I'd like to think they have gotten better than that by now.

Passengers all complained that it cannot be turned off.  All you can do is to go near-mute and near-black.  The sound is annoying, and it ended up so unpopulate.  The company claimed I would get higher ratings, but I seriously doubt that.  It's exactly the opposite.

It's a lot of work too.  At the beginning of every trip, I have to wipe the fingerprints, make sure it's charged, and connected to my iPhone, etc etc.  Such a hassel.  and this was for pennies.  I remember making $0 for the first two weeks. Not sure how but that's how it turned out, due to there not being enough advertisers or something.

Why does it keep talking about Hiring?  Isn't that the whole point of having and using these accounts?

This is a list from angel.co, which is a job-seeker site for entrepreneurs and start-ups.

So they are talking about real employees they are hiring.
