I am disabled and need to go grocery shopping is this acceptable? I can walk and all that on my own. I cannot drive.

You can certainly request a rideshare vehicle such as Uber or Lyft to take you to the grocery store. I would suggest using our Fare Calculator to see which ride services are available in your area. When you choose the company you would like to use, you will need to download the application onto your smart phone and request the car. You will then request one ride to take you to the grocery store and another to bring you back home when you are finished.
Here is a helpful link if you are new to ridesharing.

Why would you not? If I were you though I would make use of grocery delivery services. Look for ones that deliver from local shops. Instacart, Mercato are good ones, and for NJ in particular I would shop from www.shoplocalway.com. If you have the chance always go local:):)
