Uber and Lyft IPO. Will it benefit drivers?

How much worse can it get? I am afraid to ask. It would be great if every driver in the US would turn their apps off at midnight Dec 30th. Don'turn them.back on until Uber and Lyft do something about the drivers pay, short rides, long pick ups, express pool, and pool. We all know that wouldnt happen. Just saying it would be nice. Why keep allowing these 2 companies to continue to screw the drivers. Nothing will ever change for the better as long as we keep driving for them. Yes I know its difficult when you need a paycheck and yes it would be tempting to take those request when no one else is accepting rides. 

I love how they mention about the default 5 star rating and the tipping. Is that really going to help? No way. Who cares about 5 stars we dont get anything for having high rating anyway. What does a high rating get a driver? Absolutely nothing. Riders dont tip now. You think because Lyft changed a few things in the app when the rider can tip, it will improve tips? No. Lets all maintain a 90% acceptance rate everyday, accept every crappy 3 min trip, accept request from riders with ratings under 4.5, lets keep a low cancel rate, dont cancel any $3.40 ride, lets give all riders snacks and water, hell why not take them to lunch or dinner for that 3.45 ride, work as many hours as Uber wants us to. Why should we do this because we can go to Arizona State University Online College. WTH, pay us what we deserve, fix the problems that have been around for years, ratings, short trips, etc... Tired of Uber and Lyft not addressing or fixing the real issues. Just throw some fluff out there to make it …

Everything they do it for better publicity, making drivers think they care, making it seem like they are helping their drivers. They are not. Anything they do is for their own benefit and it all comes with a price. Is there any driver out there that thinks Ubers rewards or Lyfts tipping change or 5 star rating default is so wonderful that you just cant wait to drive more? Does anyone think these changes were made out of the kindness of their heart? Because they care about drivers? Who cant wait to sign up for Arizona Online school? Who is actually going to maintain the percentages they want, take crappy rides, drive 40 + hrs per week all to go to.Arizona Online? Just curious. Please share how much you trust these companies? Do you really think they care and that they want to help the drivers? That the rewards and few changes on app is going to fix things? Help us pay our bills? How stupid do they think we all are that we buy into their BS?
