My sister also drives and mostly nights. She will on do airport rides. She has had a few encounters with drunk guys and had to kick them out of her car in mid transit.
Why only at nights? A few female drivers that I know say that the easiest way to stay safe is to avoid certain hours like nights.
Location I also heard is key. Airports is a good idea. Not many crooks or drunks there.
As long as your smart about who you pick up you should be fine. Don't go to dodgy areas and if you arrive and the person/group seems off just cancel!
