Locked out of my lyft driver account unfairly

So I’ve been driving lyft in Honolulu for almost 4 months. I have almost 1500 rides and a driver rating of 4.98. Two weeks ago I go to start driving and I got locked out of my account. They reran my background check and something got flagged. Two years ago I got caught camping in a state park without a permit. This is a non violent petty misdemeanor. Lyft said my account was “under review”. A few days ago they sent another email saying that I will no longer be able to drive with lyft. Nowhere in their driver requirements does it say that a non violent petty misdemeanor is grounds for disqualification. I also checked my Uber background check and it did come up uber just didn’t disqualify me for it. I have sent multiple emails to lyft and I keep getting the same copy/paste response. It’s a shame there isn’t a number to call and talk to a real person because I think I got disqualified unfairly. Is there anything else I can do to fight it and get back driving with lyft or is it impossible at this point?

The same thing happened to me!! I haven't been able to communicate with a human either. Super disappointed with Lyft.

They don't care, they make themselves look like the kinder gentler rideshare company, they're as nad and lately worse than Uber

Sorry bsprings! My heart goes out to you ! Lyft could care less about us drivers! I hope you have found alternative means of survival because if you wait on Lyft to help you, you’re out of luck! I will say prayers for you and send out best wishes and good karma requests as well!

I wonder if they are under new pressure to do stricter background checks. Smaller things that passed before are now getting flagged. Do you have any smaller rideshare companies available in your area you could test out?

They are, they also are doing a lot more spot checks with their face recognition software on Uber.

Wow that is ridiculous. Sadly I don't feel like you will have any luck contacting them.

Once they deactivate a driver, it's very difficult to get back on the platform, switch to Uber.

Uber is better anyways! I’ve been driving Uber only and I’m quite alright with that. Lyft cut their rates HEAVILY in Honolulu with their new “get paid as soon as you hit accept” system. I went from $1.12 a mile to $.57 a mile! Uber just released all their new perks and incentives with Uber pro which I really like. So maybe this was a blessing in disguise, I was already fed up with lyft before this!

Sorry to hear that, you can always contact a labor attorney. They're both evil companies, didn't that run a background check on you when you first signed up? They should have caught that then. Are you also on Uber? That's why I always recommend signing up for both, don't know why some drivers only do Lyft thinking they're any better.

Yes I do still currently drive for Uber. I signed up for both around the same time. It did pop up on my Uber BG but they didn’t disqualify me for it. I signed up for lyft first I think because it was on the county level it didn’t initially show up and I got the green light to drive lyft. I make more money with uber anyways it’s just annoying when it’s slow. I liked being able to run both apps and maximize my time on the road. Part of me thinks it’s because there are too many drivers in Honolulu. Another lyft driver told me (don’t know how true this is) that there are so many lyft drivers in this city that they stopped taking new applicants shortly after I signed up. It’s possible that even though it’s not in the driver requirements, they weeded out anybody with ANYTHING on their BG check. I guess my driver rating of 4.98 means nothing...
