I got a new phone and now can't set up my Uber app. I put in my phone number and it tells me to text "start" to a number. I do it and nothing happens. I can't get past this screen. I emailed Uber and they weren't helpful. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Can you try the following and see if one of these steps works?
1. Double check that your phone number is entered correctly and try texting start again.
2. Your mobile carrier may be blocking the short code SMS that Uber uses to contact you. Please contact your mobile provider to confirm that short code SMS is enabled for your mobile account. Please make you don't block SMS from foreign number.
3. Try basic troubleshooting, turn off your device and back on. This may reconnect your device to the network to receive the SMS.
