Uber and Lyft Riders Please do not get into your Uber or Lyft until you do this.

In case you dont know a young 20 something woman got in car she thought was her Uber. It wasnt her Uber. She was stabbed to death and dumped into a shallow grave. She was from NJ but this happened in SC. It can happen anywhere.

Please do not get into an Uber or Lyft especially near Bars, Night Clubs, Restaurants, and crowded Venues until:

You make sure that car matches your app 

Color, make, model, license plate, and drivers pic. If it doesn't DO NOT GET IN THAT CAR. 10/15 seconds it will take may save your life. 

Ladies

Call a friend, share your trip with a friend (can do this right from app). Face time. 

Try not to take Uber or Lyft by yourself especially late at night or if you are drunk. 

Do not pass out after drinking in an Uber or Lyft (yes young women tell me they do this all the time). 

There is a 911 Emergency assistance access in Uber and Lyft app. Find it know where its at. 

Anyone can buy and sell Uber and Lyft signs, amps, lights dont think because you see one on the car it makes it your driver.  They dont mean a damn thing. Check your app know who is picking you up, color, make, model, and license plate. If all dont match DO NOT GET IN THAT CAR.

No one needs to lose their life. Pay attention to your surroundings. This isnt rocket science but plain old common sense. Please use it. Tell your friends. Educate people who use rideshare.
