Hi,I am an uber driver in New York city for almost five years now with 17,421 rides and a star rating of 4.87, just last till now I encounter rude behavior from some riders. One was about the number of passengers was too many that I refuse to pick them and the others was they don't have their face mask on when ask to wear them and start cursing at you,and some wants to seat at the front seat which is not allowed at this moment due to the Corona Virus Pandemic that all riders seat at the back seat, when tell them to set at back then start cursing and giving you attitude. I reported each incident to uber safety team and to my suprise the send me an email that a rider made a complaint that I have an argument with them makes fell uncomfortable and my account is being deactivated permanently and is final. What did I do wrong by following the Community Guidelines of uber and i am confuse what should I do

I am an Uber driver too I have a lot experience same as you describe I want to say to Uber management the rider doesn't have lose nothing but driver lose job so most driver they try doing the best and also you should know driver has a lot stress of driving responsibility when the rider doing something wrong even very small that behaviour made the driver nerves also driver don’t have time for explaining or report for every rider manner because driver must focus working and driving and for Uber is important how is the first compelling.
I am so sorry hear after more than 17000 trip Uber deactivated the driver account.
Look at this - riders are required to take mask selfies in some places now. How can they promote this but then deactivate you for enforcing it?

I have had many pax refusing to wear masks, it is ridiculous. Uber does nothing to enforce it even though it is the official rule. They even have handed out these Covid Safety placards for cars with things on it like "use hand sanitizer" " sit in the back" etc and NOWHERE on the placard does it say wear a mask! So now when customers get in the vehicle they point to that and say "this doesnt say I need one" Uber is just completely leaving the drivers high and dry as the ones to blame in the great mask debate. It is ridiculous.
Wow. That is so frustrating. I have heard of a lot of drivers encountering ignorant riders who refuse to wear masks and blame the driver for the rule even though it is explicitly stated by Uber. I would have thought Uber would have had your back in these situations...
Please keep us updated, did you fight back?
I have send many messages to explain to them, and they still stand by their decision. I am so disappointed in them, for completing 17,421 rides with 4.87 star ratings in almost 5 years and this is how they treated me? I am confuse and don't know what to do
Can you sue them? When an employee is wrongfully terminated, he or she has the right to sue the company. They have to be able to provide their reasoning.
It probably says in the contract they don't need a reason. Employers often do not have to give a reason for terminating employment. They call it an at-will employment. Most states and most businesses can claim this. (unions are a different story, of course)
Do you have an account on twitter? Could you send a bunch of tweets at them? Sometimes social media pressure gets to them. I would be sharing your story EVERYWHERE because this is completely ridiculous.
