Woman says Uber driver ‘ignored’ her cries for help during backseat robbery
Shortest article ever, not even sure it is real, but this begs the question, "should a rideshare driver step in ... -
Have you had any #whatsmyname passengers yet?
I keep reading about this big new campaign to encourage riders to ask drivers what their name is before getting ...
I love how Uber and Lyft get all up in arms about drivers cancelling rides to rough neighborhoods, yet, do absolutely NOTHING to ensure our safety.
Try typing in the "from" box your starting location in DC, does that change things? You should then see the car/clock icon to make it a scheduled ride. Let me know if that doesn't work!
She posted a reply below, just FYI as I know you give good advice Momof4!
Oh man, I am sorry to read this. This changes everything IMO, I do not think you are being unreasonable. You have very legit reasons to be worried. I know this is so hard for you and scary and it seems easier to just turn a blind eye but that is never going to make you happy in the end. Sooner or later it will bubble out of you, perhaps you can talk to a therapist who can give you some pointers on bringing this up to him? Think about waht you want to achieve. If he is cheating, do you want to stay with him? Do you want him to move back home? Do you want a divorce? Think on what you want and then take steps to get there! Good luck!
lol like flying taxis are any closer to reality
What platform are you trying to schedule a ride? Uber or Lyft or another service?
Sorry that you are feeling this way, a job should not be ruining your marriage! I am a female driver so my experience may be different than a males driver perspective but it is not very easy to have relations with your passengers in my opinion! Many trips are fairly short, you hardly get past the friendly how are you chatter before you are on to the next passenger. Many people travel in multiples making a situation of cheating even more unlikely.
Does your husband drive at night often? I would think this would be a time for more temptation (drunk passengers) but again most girls will travel in groups at night.
Do you have any reasons to suspect your husband? Has he been unfaithful before? Have you found any evidence in his car?
Could your husband pick up another job to earn extra income? Perhaps a delivery driver where he hardly interacts with others?
I can't access that link but I heard about this. Absolutely disgusting if it is true.Hopefully not some scam to sue Uber though...
Ya, I have said it before but riders have been trained that they do not need to tip. That is like telling a dog that they do not need to roll over for a treat and then all the sudden saying "well you should roll over but youll still get the treat even if you don't". What dog would roll over?
Wow, how people do not see or care that both Uber and Lyft are skimming profits off the top of every fare is beyond me! There is no other reason for them to hide this information.
Well if it is an emergency then 911 but if not I am a AAA member which I would highly suggest - worth the money!
This site, RideGuru, has a fare comparison calculator so you can find out how much both of your rides will cost you. Either click the link or click on "Ride" up in the navigation bar. You will have to order another Uber after the concert and as a word of warning, you might have to wait a little bit for an Uber and pay surge pricing as there will likely be a high demand from the concert just getting out.
Personally I don't mind the conversations even if they get repetitive but some questions you will hear VERY frequently are "How long have you been driving for" "Do you like driving" and "Do you do anything else besides driving".
Holy cow, that first 2 lines:
Just shows how few veteran drivers there are.
Since it is the drivers personal vehicle they have the right to record you. Just don't do anything you wouldnt want on camera :)
Ever worried they will deactivate you for making a stink?
Well personally I think giving up flexible work is worth gaining decent pay and benefits. There is a reason Uber and Lyft are fighting for us to stay as independent contractors!
Once someone asked me for advice on how to tell his foster son that they would not be adopting him but would be adopting his younger sister. I had no words of advice, I still think of this guy as a monster.
haha, this is probably why Uber is so reluctant to share their data...
You have no need to worry. Lyft driver's are not able to see your ride history, same as you are not able to see the driver’s ride history.
At the time you are paired with a driver, the driver will only be able to see your first name, location, and current rating. That is it!
