Lyft is cheaper according to our Fare Comparison Calculator, however, there are lots of factors that go into picking the best ride for you. Make sure to play around with our filters on the left hand side to find the best ride based on number of passengers, luxury vs standard, and more! Also, always remember that while rideshares tend to be cheaper than taxis, taxi cabs and drivers are fully regulated by the state which make some riders feel safer.

The problem about LGA is that it's difficult to get an Uber. I feel like I have to wait for a while for it to arrive, while going to the taxi rank is instant. (Well, sort of. Monday mornings, there are lines.)
Also, taxis have flat rates. Was it $35 to midtown? I can't remember as I haven't use it for a while.
so my vote goes to taxis.
