Were you lucky enough to score tickets to this year’s Superbowl at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona? Or maybe you live close enough to travel into the city for a day of football related festivities. Either way, we anticipate that traffic and rideshare demand is going to be much higher than usual with the crowds. Here are our top tips for flying into PHX and getting around for Glendale for Super Bowl LVII.

  1. Longer-Than-Usual-Waits: With the large anticipated crowds, plan for longer wait times than usual. Give yourself or your group plenty of time to travel from one event to the next!
  2. Know Your Pickup Zones: When using large rideshare companies like Uber or Lyft, you can save time by simply entering in the venue or event name of where you are headed instead of searching for an address. In fact, Lyft even recommends that when heading to a major attraction, that you do only enter in the venue name, i.e. “State Farm Stadium” as this will help Lyft route you to the correct designated drop-off zone when you arrive. By the way, the designated pickup and drop-off zone at State Farm Stadium is the Black Lot located on Cardinals Way, to the south of the stadium!
  3. Traveling Through PHX: With the number of fans coming in an out of Glendale this weekend, PHX is sure to be a mad house. While you may be anticipating the crowds traveling in, many may forget that Monday morning will likely be just as crowded leaving. We recommend ordering your ride at least 4 hours prior to your flight on Monday to give yourself plenty of time to get through traffic and increased security lines.
  4. Focus on Safety: This weekend is sure to be a good time, filled with lots of parties and pandemonium. Unfortunately, that also means that scammers will likely be in full force. Before you enter any rideshare, confirm your key ride details such as the vehicle make and model, the driver’s name and photo, and the license plate. If the information doesn’t match up, do not get into the car! Remember that once you are in your ride, you can share your location and route with friends and family using Uber or Lyft’s Share Location feature.

However, you plan to celebrate Superbowl weekend, we hope you have fun!
