To show support and help celebrate Pride month, Uber has announced some new app changes to make everyone feel more comfortable when using their service. See below for their new and inclusive changes.

For Drivers and Couriers

In the past it was quite tricky, if not impossible to change your name within the driver app. Now, to better support transgender drivers and couriers, users will be able to quickly change their display name directly in the app. Uber claims it is now as simple to change your display name as it is to update your phone number or email address. This feature is currently only available in the US and can be found under “Profile Settings”. If a driver would like to change their official name within the app, they will still need to contact the Uber support team.

Uber has also stated that they have transformed their dedicated support team to better resolve any issues that members of the Pride community may face. According to Uber, “These support agents are given specialized training to help ensure positive, respectful, and efficient interactions when resolving issues for transgender drivers and couriers, across a range of issues including – but not limited to – profile photo approval, duplicate account confusion, and background check issues.”

For Uber Riders

In an effort to better meet the needs of Uber’s riders, Uber is introducing a new feature that will allow riders to set their correct pronouns in the app. Once again, this feature is only available in the US, but Uber hopes to expand this feature soon. To add your pronouns to your Uber account, all you need to do is go to your “Account Info” and select “Add your pronouns”. From there you will be able to choose up to 3 pronouns t display on your profile.

Will you be utilizing Uber’s new Pride features?

I think that Uber is well done and correctly supporting pride.

I previously read a long article from a custom writing service about how pride is supported in the world.

SO...Uber added an extra Field in their App and it's Celebration Time? If you can put up to 3 Pronouns...why stop there, just put in 30 or 40 or 50 pronouns as mine Change constantly.....so before I get off a 10 minute ride I may need at least a couple of dozen. Playing Metaverse with Reality does no good for anyone...putting in a FIELD to be called by, does not change the fact they want your REAL LEGAL name to rent the Service...it's playing to peoples delusions does not make it real.
