As a driver, can I use an alias, a different name, instead of the real name? For safety.

How do I only accept UberXL requests from users?
Wasn’t there a conspiracy that Lyft was sending all the rides to Lyft Express users because they get a portion of the revenue?
Who knows if that was true. All I can say is that this culture of deceit and lack of trust is really disturbing.
You sir is an a-hole.
Yep, that's part for the course. I argue this article strongly.
Don't remind me of how little I make. I used to do the math, but I intentionally ignore. Unhealthy? I gotta get up in the morning first
You called them? I have not ever spoken to anyone at Uber. Oh, trust me, it's not for the lack of trying.
I saw somewhere that they’ll be rolling out new stickers and swag in the upcoming months. They’ll proactively send them out so you don’t need to ask. (Though, I’m sure it doesn’t hurt to ask.)
...and she believed that he was making america great again.
I am surprised you got that far in that sequence. Were you practicing
Are you on iPhone or Android? I haven't had to re-install in the 2+ years I've used it.
A bit confused whether you are saying the previous app is the unstable or the new.
I am referring to the fact that with the new app, Uber will start rolling out new pricing and new surging rules. I suppose that isn't so much to do with the app and more to do with their policy, but I am just so fed up with it these days. Over 5000 trips and arg, I am so jaded.
I basically reached a conclusion that I will never know how much I will be making anymore.
So so much for being my own boss. I’m at complete mercy of Uber the big mean giant.
They should make it so kids can be banned and deactivated. We all know some kids can be punks and are troublemakers.
and yes, drivers should be able to put kids on the blacklist, just as the kids (and their families) can.
Actually, since you have experience, here is my question to you:
Do you rate the kids too and can you block certain kids from appearing?
Yes, it's all Uber's fault.
It's tricky though. I have had a few service animals, and I haven't had any trouble. The dog didn't smell, it didn't slobber, and it didn't hurt or mess up my car. Granted it hasn't ever been on a rainy day.
So not all situations with service animals are bad. This is where it gets tricky. We need to prevent certain drivers to simply say not to all service animals - just because they want to. That's a situation we must avoid.
Service animals on rainy days? Sigh, Javier has a good point though. If I get my car messed up, it's not like the city bus or something where I can get compensated by tthe government. It's on our dime.
It's wherever you want it to be. Just sign up as a driver.
Did you actually get charged for it?! and how much?
By partnership you do mean being a driver, right?
They have been tightening the background checks, or at least they claim to be. However, I heard this is more for criminal records, where they started checking for more details like violence, abuse, etc. So if you didn't have any of those, I think you would be okay.
Not sure why the minor driving infraction of the past would play into it now. Maybe Uber is tightening up on the driving records too. Maybe you were always hovering around the threshold and this is what may break the camel's back?
I saw the Octopus how it's available free for drivers who drive at least 30 hours a week.
So what happens if you don't drive 30 hours a week?
There are lots of side hustles to make money, but your big question is whether you can make more money doing those than driving itself. Maybe it was meant to be rhetorical, but I will answer to that.
I have tried many of these side hustles, including delivering foods (UberEats), in-cabin advertisements (Vugo), "cargo" type setup where I sell food, and selling umbrellas and ponchos.
None of them came close to making as much as driving someone.
I had never heard of it, but upon looking it up I see that it's similar to Vugo.
I shared my experience a few weeks ago, but main points are here. (I am not sure if they have since changed or improved.)
- It was buggy and took me precious time beween fares to set it up or proble solve.
- Pax hated it because they couldn't turn it off. You can turn it down, but not all the way.
- They get dirty. Another thing to clean between fares.
- Made very tiny money.

This is a pretty random list. but they have regional differences. Ola- India, Didi- China, Lyft- US and Canada, Uber- everywhere, Flywheel- limited in US, Grab- Southeast Asia, Kabbee- London.
Nah, that charge comes later after the driver submitted it that claim. So she got two receipts.
