As a driver, can I use an alias, a different name, instead of the real name? For safety.

How do I only accept UberXL requests from users?
I think it means they just don't count against your acceptance rate.
Pax seems to always talk about the state they are in.
As long as you want, baby. Longer the better. More money.
SPACE FORCE!!
+1.
What happens really? The problem is...I am not sure what passengers see different.
No money in the world will make me drive other people's bratty kids. It's hard enough with adults, where I'm on a three weekend puke streak. I don't need to add juice spills and Cheerios on the floor
Yes, bratty. How can they not be taking $25 rides to soccer practices, each way. These aren't the regular kids you see at town pools.
Yes, they still do. Totally. They tell you about bonuses, and how it's cooler than Uber. They also talk smack about how evil Uber is. It's like Jehovah's witnesses. Overly nice, and a bit creepy.
First of all, always make sure to launch a GPS app from within Uber's app. Second, turn the notification on so it displays these messages at the top of the screen or right in the center. I know you can do that with an iPhone.
All we did was to get you to the destination? That's where you are wrong, my friend.
We do so much more than just driving. We clean the cars, we keep you safe, we find where you are because it's wrong on the app half the time, we are friendly, provide charging cables, maybe even water bottles, and we entertain you with our wonderful life stories.
We may open doors, handle your luggage, and provide touristy tips if you are new. We will make suggestions, we will take the stress of navigating the streets off of your hands, and we make sure you don't have to worry about a thing for you to enjoy the trip.
Please. we aren't just getting you from point A to point B. If you can't see that, you must have a twisted level of expectation, lacks empathy of what others do for you, and must be used to be treated like a royalty.
I have 5000+ rides and no I haven't had any discrimination, whether it's racial or whatever.
I have lots of crazy stories and I have heard various racist comments in the backseats. but so far, no one has messed with me.
It's per impression, basically how many ads are shown. I tried it in 2016, and it was not ready for prime time. So aweful. It kept crashing, and the tipping feature (to tip the driver) barely worked and required the pax to enter and log into PayPal to make it happen. I'd like to think they have gotten better than that by now.
Passengers all complained that it cannot be turned off. All you can do is to go near-mute and near-black. The sound is annoying, and it ended up so unpopulate. The company claimed I would get higher ratings, but I seriously doubt that. It's exactly the opposite.
It's a lot of work too. At the beginning of every trip, I have to wipe the fingerprints, make sure it's charged, and connected to my iPhone, etc etc. Such a hassel. and this was for pennies. I remember making $0 for the first two weeks. Not sure how but that's how it turned out, due to there not being enough advertisers or something.
well, it's even when the clock is running, right? If you broke it or dipped in sewer, jut end your ride, and it's back on the streets.
It's like how things will be with Autonomous Robot Taxis. Some people have talked about this. Those cars will get super dirty, and if there are no drivers, what will they do? Robots can't clean cars.
In the front seat? I always ask.... not because I am noble but because my car constantly beeps if we don't buckle in. The back? not care too much. I still look out of habit (I got kids), but I hold back the urge to warn people. It's their life.
I am not saying that we keep anonymous the whole time. It's just when the request is out there. Don't reveal driver identiy until we are matched up... wait. no . I guess it already does that.. Then until you get in the car... or does that defeat the purpose?
Yes. Why aren't there cosumer laws that provide driver identities? Uber drivers are independent contractors and needs to be protected like any regular consumers.
SUPER cruel. Think about it. We work off of an average. 1 star requires brings it way down and will require a bunch to bring it back up.
If you get 1-star, then get four rides with 5-star, that's still 4.2. Remember...we are in the no-no zone for having 4.6 or below.
If you get a 1-star rating, it will take like....a million 5-stars to get it back up. umm, can someone do the math?
He is trying to save the coal miners, so maybe he'll try to save the taxi drivers next.
The dude in the picture is wearing a helmet. He's a total actor. I have NEVER seen anyone wear helmets on those scooters. I mean, why would they if the name of the game is convenience?
Anyone who is prepared enough to carry aroudn a helmet all day already owns those tree hugging scooters.
exactly.
Just a generous tipper. Don't go judging him.
