What about a little twist? What if the *DRIVERS* have the "opt-out" button. We call it the "QUIET CAR."
Ooooh, it's happening. We all suspected this to happen when it was introduced, and last year's 180 days initiative is now bringing this to light.
With UberPool, Uber makes out like a bandit, because there are multiple rider parties taking and sharing the ride. Uber collects 2x the amount of fare less a small discount, and the drivers are still paid for duration and distance, i.e. the same plus a bit more because they are driving longer to make up multiple stops.
Let's say from an airport to the train station, it's $10 for UberX riders and the driver gets paid $5. Then they came up with UberPool and started offering this same trip for $9.00, a dollar discount for a minor inconvenience. Now, let's imagine the driver picks up two groups of riders. They both pay $9 x 2 for a total of $18. The driver still gets $5 plus a tiny bit for a longer trip to pick up the two passengers, so, let's say $6.
Gasp! Uber ade $12 and the driver made $6. Pretty much all of the efficiency created and the profit associated with it went straight to Uber's pocket.
Trump would claim he invented it.
Lost wages majorly suck for drivers, and it happens whether it's the driver's fault or not. I was just reading two threads on this forum about it.

In the first example, he mentions how you can sometimes claim lost wages, which is good. The second one is a stupid rock through the window totally not the guy's fault
It really cripples the drivers though.
Is Spot Angels all about metered spots?
I see pretty much everything as "FREE", but I assume if I checked it during the day, I would actually see ones that are booked or busy?
How do they have this data even?
Thanks for sharing this. This is the type of information that needs to be shared, because consumers are getting screwed by the BS claims that Lyft and Uber continue to spew.
This is a great example, because this sounds great on paper but there's the truth of there being a quota. 60~70 hours week? Come on. There is obvious an agenda here by these companies whose only goal is to make more money.
Are you a driver? Feasibility aside, would this even make sense financially? EV cars cost more money, albeit some good tax benefits.
How many rides do you give in a day? In a Year? I am trying to do the math on how much that adds up to at $1.00~$1.25 a ride.
Independent contractors. Drivers don't want to be told what to do
Driving faster will get you more fares, as you can complete more rides this way.
Why don't you ask them?
wait, you have a landline?
There was an article on this. basically go to m.uber.com and order it from their website.
