Yo Driver - You can't park.
-
Hypothetical: Can I drive over someone if he was trying to attack or grab me from the outside? Would I be criminally responsible?
-
Lyft drivers can rate passengers later? That's a horrible idea!
Lyft drivers can now rate and leave feedback for their passengers well after the trip is over. i think this … -
Are Sundays bad days to work as Lyft and Uber drivers?
New driver here. I heard that Sundays are not good days to work as Uber drivers, because people sleep in, … -
What is the difference between Uber's Booking Fee and Service Fee?

Why do so many Uber users cancel immediately after the driver has accepted?
This is a question from a new driver to Uber users. I spoke to a few other drivers, and apparently …
They told me that the tablets are free, which sounds all nice, but it's not like I get to use it. It's still theirs and it's an advertising machine for them.
With that said, unlike Vugo, it seems to offer a lot more entertainment and games and such. I'd be willing to give it a try, despite the fact that I have some doubts on their claim that I'd get tipped more.
I wonder if there are stats around that.
I have had many times been blamed for smoking in car, my cabin smelling like marijuana and alcohol on my breath. They show up in the automated "ways you can improve" screen, and I have gotten some warnings from Uber as well.
I do not smoke, I do not drink (when I am driving), and I have never smoked pot. So why does this happen? Is it horrible riders just framing me? I have no idea.
Luckily, not once I have been deactivated so far, however. So maybe you should take comfort?
Just so you know, each time I receive something from Lyft or Uber, I would write my explanation and my defense. It's pretty much a carbon copy at this point. I explain that it must have been a residual smell from the previous customer. Not once Uber or Lyft has responded, but I haven't gotten deactivated, so maybe they worked?
Every time I take my car in, they tell me my brakes are shot. When I point out any sound my car makes they always tell me it's the brakes and they tell me to replace it. Yeah, I get it. I drive a lot now, but the # of pads that I go through is insane.
The thing is... what is there to be "careful" about? I will make my claims when my car is damaged. Plain and simple.
I suppose this new enforcement may be an incentive to TRY to avoid those situations. Like carrying a puke bag. I have gotten lazy about that. People somehow kept stealing mine, and I eventually stopped stocking it.
I don't think passenger really have a community.
Tough one to answer without knowing how much stuff you have.
Here's a good article on it.
RideGuru - How much luggage can I bring in my Uber/Lyft?
No, I don't either. It's not like there are hangout places only for drivers. Like RMV? lol.
I think you are thinking waaay too hard. Rideshare drivers barely see each other and we work independently from each other.
The only time I run into each other are in busy places like bar closing times and airport staging areas. Even then, we don't speak too much. At least I don't.
Secret rules? Maybe not talk about it? I suppose we do share notes when we talk. Complain about Uber and how little money we are making? It's what you'd expect.
I never buy anywhere else than Amazon, but I may make an exception. ;)
I was all excited, then realized that it's $45. Not sure, guys.
You are talking about the spray, right Not the incense?
When asked to veer away from the GPS-recommended routes, I always make sure to check with the passenger that the pricing may change. This is important because Uber "guarantees" the price and that may be dislodged.
Often times this discourages people from backseat driving. If they still insist, but then it's on them. Not my problem.
That's exactly why I don't do UberEATS. I have heard people complain about certain foods, especially Indian food. That smell just does NOT go away. Even after the air-out and a wipe-down. I think the fabric absorbs it or something.
That is a nice trick to keep that ziplock bag. I actually do something similar, which is to keep one of those disposal Lysol Wipes next to me, and wipe down the seats. Some people mentioned I am trying too hard, but it really doesnt' take that long to to quickly wipe down the seats. Like 12 seconds!
and it really does help with the smell. It's a bit disgusting to think about, but it's amazing how much smell rubs off from people clothes and skin on the seat. Quick wipe-down takes care of it.
Dirt cheap at BJs and Costco. Like $10 for a four huge tubes. Lasts a few months.
Respect your driver. really.
Be prompt. Be on time and be at the location. You really should be at the curb when requesting one. There's no excuse as you know we are coming on the Uber app.
As far as the driver is willing to go. Once matched up, just ask over the phone. Make sure to do it right away, under 5 minutes, to avoid a cancellation fee.
ok. good point. you are right. they wouldn't.
Bodyshops do take forever. I am not surprised by the 5 day turnaround, but what never crossed my mind was the lost wages. Uber or Lyft would certainly not accommodate for that, and I don't even know if they would grant exception on driving a different car for that time period. Hey, wouldn't that nice?
It's the right call to tell the insurance company. Even if you fail to get the lost wages payout, they may push the bodyshop to perform the work faster. It would be in their best interest.
Well, my name is Syed, so yes. LOL.
I had an entire pizza left in the back seat of my car. Fresh though.
@Ella. This depends on the market and where you work. but in any market, there should be areas where you can benefit. People do have to get around all hours of the day.
Try to find out where people need the ride the most. If you work during the day (not hitting those rush hours or airport traffic, e.g. early mornings), you'd have to look out for shopping malls,
Talk to other drivers. There are definitely drivers who only work 9-4 or 9-5. It's all about the lifestyle. If you don't mind making a bit less, but want to keep a regular "normal person" lifestyle, sure, by all means, you should do it.
