Hey fellow Uber drivers I've been driving fir uber for just 2.5 months and I have 260 rides with 160 -5 star rating and 4.86 average.
Since driving for uber I've been accused of drinking, driving and using drugs while driving. Now mind you I've never even had a drink or ever used drugs but it seems as tho riders can accuse drivers of whatever they want and uber will fire off a threat of deactivation which is very unsettling and also makes a bright future with uber seem very dark indeed.Yesterday uber said a rider accused me of not being professional! Gee so my question to you folks out there have you had a similar experience after just being on the app for 2 months or more?
Also if Uber wants us Uberx or XL drivers to be professional perhaps they should offer classes on this very issue?

I have had many times been blamed for smoking in car, my cabin smelling like marijuana and alcohol on my breath. They show up in the automated "ways you can improve" screen, and I have gotten some warnings from Uber as well.
I do not smoke, I do not drink (when I am driving), and I have never smoked pot. So why does this happen? Is it horrible riders just framing me? I have no idea.
Luckily, not once I have been deactivated so far, however. So maybe you should take comfort?
Just so you know, each time I receive something from Lyft or Uber, I would write my explanation and my defense. It's pretty much a carbon copy at this point. I explain that it must have been a residual smell from the previous customer. Not once Uber or Lyft has responded, but I haven't gotten deactivated, so maybe they worked?
Yeah, look here:
It could be the riders trying to get free rides. They drop some complaints in hopes they will get a refund for their rides. It's so messed up.
Did multiple passengers accus you of drinking/drugs or just one?
Hey Dracomalfoy thanks for your post-reply.Yes only one passenger launched an accusation against me to Uber so thnk God for that!
Even tho it's only one pax I'm constantly on edge when I'm on the app to try and get 5 star trips with each pax. Anyhow I still have a 4.90 rating and am looking for ways to increase that rating further.
Thnks again bro!!
So frustrating. Sorry your dealing with this. I hate passengers who try to scam the system just to get freebies from Uber. Uber is terrible at recognizing these passengers and deleting them from the app.
Offer classes? Really?
Uber doesn't know how to do anything except bleed cash. Their solution to conflicts is to declare passengers always right, drivers always wrong, and throw cash back at the riders to avoid having to deal with confrontation.
Don't obsess about your rating, because a certain percentage of riders are scammers and assholes and nothing you do will change them. I also only have two ratings for passengers... 5 stars for ones that I'd take again, and 1 star for those I never want back in my car. Over time the problem riders will weed themselves out.
Were you accused of not being professional? So have I. (and I'm still here)
Hey RedAnt thnks for your post-reply it sounds like you've been a driver for awhile so I value your input. When I first started working for Uber I was ON MY OWN!I received no coaching no instruction and I took it upon myself to delve into all the YouTube how to Uber videos about the driver app and to learn about ratings amongst a host of other information I needed to begin driving.I also took it upon myself to go to a greenlight hub and ask questions on how to do this and that.Once I was approved to drive I was on my own and uber did nothing to help me get started and learn how to be a top rated driver and how to treat riders.I learned about the app on my own no one helped me at all.
If it wasn't for RideGuru and other sites i wouldn't have been prepared to become a knowledgeable driver so hopefully all this will change at uber and for them to cherish thier driver-partner and to teach the new guy how to be the best..thnx for your input!
