Uber commissions capped at 25%, no upfront pricing, exact destination on each trip before accepting a ride, old surge multiplier is back, no AR restrictions etc.

Uber is Making Big Changes in California for Drivers! Is all this due to CA AB5?
I welcome these changes over the past month culminating with commission caps at 25%, showing destination, bringing the old surge …
There's a whole bunch now, Kango, Hop Skip & Drive, Zum. Shocking Uber hasn't done it, oh I forgot, much tougher background checks, fingerprint and a piss test. 😆
That's exactly I don't accept any rides with more than 5 minute pick-up since I don't kniw what the destination is. Set your rules, treat rideshare as a business instead of public service.
You must be a newbie or really think this is public service, good for you.
Uber will never be profitable as long as they chase a pipe dream of flying cars, self driving taxis and maybe if they didn't have over 100 lawsuits over 60 by state and federal AG due to their shady and illegal corporate policies, then maybe they may turn a profit. I doubt it though.
Ask yourself why they're unprofitable, not because of drivers. Would love to see how unprofitable they'll be when they own their own cars.
I would study the economics of the rideshare industry, then figure out why the drivers are asking for more money.
PASSENGERS ARE LIVING IN A SUBSIDIZED FANTASY LAND, all rides should cost at least double of what they are now, everyone will turn a profit, no one will complain then except maybe the pax.
The average Uber ride in the USA is around 7 miles. So shorties are something we’re used to. That’s why I don’t drive more than 5 minutes or 1.5 miles to pick someone up. Imagine, if a driver drove 15 minutes to go half a mile. There’s no such thing as socially acceptable, rider is paying and driver is making only $2.62 for all that work but it is what it is.
Still, doesn’t stop me. My AR has been around 15% for a long time
Not so fast for Uber and Lyft. Read the following article, they’re complaining that they won’t be able to do what they did in the States since regulators are keeping their leash very short. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/lyft-says-b-c-s-new-driver-regulations-are-full-of-red-tape-1.5205971
Six pieces of luggage, definitely SUV or XL on either platform.
Flying under the radar only goes so far, if UBER wasn't so horrible, Lyft wouldn't have been able to do so for seven years. Lyft in most cases is as bas or worse than Uber, I would like to do a survey one day and find out what the satisfaction rate of drivers and passengers is with both companies. I bet the driver's satisfaction percentage would be in the teens at best vs. passenger's at over 90%.
Both don't show destination before accepting the ride. Uber and Lyft are testing to send you direction and duration if the driver is a slave and has 90% acceptance rates. Lyft will show destination when you arrive at pickup on the menu screen regardless of acceptance rate but then it's too late to cancel.
We're true independent contractors all right.
It's the price for the type of car you order, it's the total for the ride. Uber and Lyft have various platforms, ranging from 4 passengers to 6 and pricing varies according to the platform.
Lyft flew under the radar until last year. Uber gets what they deserve, they're evil. Lyft on the other hand is the dysfunctional little sister. Lately, Lyft is getting as much bad press as UBER.
They're taking all their losses in this quarter, going forward all operational results will be clean.
😆😂😂😂
Yep, one quarter. On Wall Street terms, it’s called the kitchen sink quarter. They’re taking all the losses down for the year, everything going forward will be just operational losses. August 8 is the day, let’s see how close I get to it.
Uber = Evil Empire Lyft = Dysfunctional Little Sister
If this bill passes the CA Senate as is, it'll be big trouble for U/L. Then they'll punish the drivers with what they're pulling in NY. Not allowing drivers to turn their app on when they want unless they have 90% acceptance rate and have done 100 rides the last 30 days.
That's the average analyst estimates, if it's less stock may even go higher, 😆
4.96 billion in losses to be announced by UBER next week on their earnings report, Amazon's worst quarter was 548 million loss, they're beating Amazon on one thing so far, largest losses in history.
