Uber is Making Big Changes in California for Drivers! Is all this due to CA AB5?
I welcome these changes over the past month culminating with commission caps at 25%, showing destination, bringing the old surge …
Don't they have scooters or e-bikes in your town? Take one of those, spare the torture on your driver.
I used to gross $50 an hour in 2018, in 2019 I'm lucky to break $30 with everything I know. I guess Uber is lying, the lower the rates, the busier we are and the driver making more is a farce.
Here's my earnings from April 2018 compared to April 2019 in Los Angeles.
Like everything else U/L claimed, this was another lie that rideshare solved congestion. Can't believe anything these shady companies say.
You touch them or push them out and they get hurt, you're liable. With passed out drunks, just drive around the block while you're calling 911, get paid until the fire department or cops show up.
Taxi? Not knowing what airport you're talking about, taxi pick up may be easier.
That's from their pre IPO S-1, check it out, it's about 300 pages long. This is an average of all rides on the platform, not your average.
I've had less than 20% AR for the last three years, still here. Yes, UBER will try to break you down, they can't deactivate a driver for low AR, they used to until they lost a case in court.
Congratulations, one of the few drivers who figured out that UBER pro is useless. It was good when they offered a 6% bump on pay for the highest tier, then in a couple of weeks they took it away.
All the studies says that a majority of riders won't get into a driverless car. I took a ride in Vegas in a Lyft/Aptiv car, it took me double the amount of time to get go my destination and I ended up paying more than a ride would have been with a human driven car.
I will pull up to a lighted area or a gas station, turn engine off, take the keys, take my cell, get out of the car, call 911 directly. Not the Uber help line and record everything that the pax may be doing. If you can't do any of that, start driving towards the nearest police station.
Yeah, both, as long as the driver keeps a 90% acceptance rate, which I'll never do.
AB5 is the only deterrant these animals have, they've gone way too far.
Welcome to Uberland, where evil resides.
Bring on AB5!
No haven't watched it, no interest in it, different strategies for different cities.
Lyft was always as bad as UBER but somehow they got away with it until now. Tigers don't lise their stripes, they just camouflage it real well.
That's a total lie in major cities, U/L have made traffic sooo much worse. That's why a lot of cities are adding a surcharge these days.
What driver would be happy to drive for at least 15 minutes including to pick up and get life changing $2.62?
No they are more tight lopped and they have a better PR team.
Both are testing it if you have 90% AR, they don't tell you destination but duration and direction, I'll never qualify. 😆
