Good point, I was wondering this myself.
While I think this is a step in the right direction, I agree with you that there is a bigger issue and ALL rides should be safe. Men, Women, Non-binary, the fact that drivers have to risk their lives at times is not ok no matter your gender!
Cute!!
Great gag gift!
Man, that sounds terrible. I have never had this happen before so I am no help, sorry. I have had my credit card declined when I traveled abroad and tried to use Uber but that isn't applicable here. Sometimes Uber is just funky, it is convenient and cheap but you can't rely on it for anything important!
This does not surprise me. Uber/Lyft have always done this and it sucks that there is really nothing we can all do about it. You are right though that this is not the way to get drivers to come back. Greedy Giant!
There is so much to unpack here... Are you saying that your probation officer is the Uber driver's sister? or the cops sister? I don't see why this cop would let the driver off like this. AND how is he even able to drive for Uber without a license?!
I believe Uber and Lyft are in Deridder, however, depending on the amount of drivers signed up in that area you may still have trouble hailing a ride.
I feel like Uber has actually always done this. Many examples of ordering Uber's with my friends at the same location and to the same destination at the same time and getting different fares. I used to take Ubers into the city 4 times a week and the fare always seemed to get slightly higher over time and traffic never increased. Uber has always been sketchy for sure but hey, they are still almost always cheaper than competition so what are you gonna do?
Perhaps there are no drivers in your area when you have looked, hence, no cars on the map?
Wow. This is a pretty crazy day he had though "On his best day, Castillo took home $540 after nine hours of driving, thanks to surge pricing. "
Are you looking for women riders/drivers in a certain area or worldwide?
I find this strange. Every driver I have encountered has their mask on. Uber even has drivers take a mask selfie before rides. Where are you located? I would report these drivers!
This person was obviously in the wrong but I do feel bad. I am sure she had done these test drives a bunch of times before and they were boring so she got comfortable on the job and started playing on her phone more and more. But this is negligence.
Really! Is driving for Uber the new cheaters disguise?
I mean it is allowed but is it sketchy? YES! Why on earth would your BF take a random Uber driver out to lunch? I would ask some questions, sorry.
You can complain away here, would love to hear the story. More officially I would go tweet at Uber :)
aww very sweet! Though why is it so hard for me to believe that he wasn't just telling her all this because she is an attractive young girl and he wanted to get "close" to her...
Unless they really can do this anonymously I think I side with Uber on this one.
I feel so bad for the driver, probably never thought she would be experiencing vehicle manslaughter charges.
