Cancellation fees after 2 minutes? I thought we had 5 minutes to cancel?
I thought we had 5 minutes to cancel. It's always been. I saw a charge yesterday for cancelling, and when …
I heard someone say, "Call an uber" and we all laughed at him until he decided to call a Lyft.
This is an excellent idea.
Pure P2P, baby!!!
Yeah, this is high. Uber should be ecstatic that the host is promoting Uber as the ride option, and it's a great opportunity for them to grab new users.
I agree there should be a volume discount. Everything is so upside-down at Uber.
Brilliant. It will fix so many problems it isn't even funny.
As the article mentions, one of the reasons is that the legislations around cars and driving are done at the state-level and not the national, so we would inevitably be behind other countries on this front. This has been true with many other topics, and it is far from being an isolated incident.
Remember too. US States are beasts, and this has been the American way. They are big, rich, and powerful and have their own police forces. There is a lot of good and creativity that comes out of having 50 different governments that consistently compete with each othere. Then Federal steps in when the time is right. It works so let's trust it.
Don't just assume that these legislations that are being passed in Germany or South Korea are perfect either.
Yeah, they announced this back in April. So this Walmart thing was imminent.
Never heard of any of them. No AirBus or Boeing? Those are the only airplane companies I know. Oh, and Lockheed and Northrop Grunman.
thanks!
Like a stock broker who just closed a $12M deal and getting a huge commissions. A mount of money it will take me years to make. Then the dude leaves me no tip. Yes, us drivers have a way of knowing if you leave tips or not.
I am not saying they are wrong for making a lot of money. but this whole tipping isn't necessarily about the amount. It's about being sympathetic, being respectful, and appreciating the service you get. If you are dirt poor and could only give me a smile, that's fine. but if you have $20M in the bank and can't spare me a dollar? to someone who just made $3.25 for that trip, potentailly at a loss? I think that lacks basic sympathy and being a good human being.
Short trips
Not tipping for extra services rendered
People who tick me off with their antics and how they have a lot of money but don't leave any tips.
Rude, arrogant riders.
Remember with Lyft, the credit used to actually be credits, so if you earned $25 and if you didn't use it in a single ride, you still had money left for your next ride? Those were the days.
maybe Jehovah's witness pamphlets.
Steals a Cab.
Steals a Dump Truck
Steals a Police Cruiser.
I have to say I have mad respect. This is some Grand Theft Auto in real life.
Why such a huge inflation? There must be some psychology professor who studies this stuff. Why is average rating on Amazon like 3 and for Uber it's like 4.8
I'd hate to tell you but there is no such thing as free market. it's an illusion of freedom.
hahah the medallion.
You know...the irony is that people are looking into AV vehicle regulations and how each one should be registered just like the flying RC drones were. So we laugh about the medallion system now, but soon we will get there.
This reminds me of the Cargo, a startup that just got some funding. They provide rideshare drivers a way to sell candies and stuff ont heir dash.
No, I have no idea how legal this is. Selling food and stuff?
Isn't that like asking if a gas-powered automobiles will replace horse-draw carriages?
... But now you see the tip option in the Uber app all the time. How can people not know about tipping?
Could it be that the amount of each tip is lower amongst Uber passengers? I'm not sure why that would happen though.
