Yes, you can. You can use Uber or Lyft app on tablets such as iPad and Android tablets.  You can even order a car on your computer.

How to Request Uber or Lyft Without a Smartphone

Be careful of two things:

  • When originally an account, Uber and Lyft will both attempt to verify your phone number by sending you a text message.  If you are not able to receive this, you will need to work directly with Uber and Lyft support.
  • The driver will not be able to communicate with you as they cannot call.  This can become troublesome in some situations or when you are matched up with a driver who prefers to call.
