How do I contact the Uber driver or Uber about a lost item?
The Guru Take
Call the driver asap on App or Web. Note a $15 will be charged.
The best way to retrieve an item you may have left in a vehicle is to call the driver. Here's how:
In App
1. In an Uber App, open the menu by clicking on the icon at top right.
2. Tap "Your Trips" to bring up the history.
3. Find the ride where you lost your item. Tap on it to bring up the Trip Details.
4. Scrolldown and tap on "I lost an item."
On a website (In case you left your phone)
1. Go to this webpage - Uber - Contact Driver.
2. Scroll down and enter the phone number you would like to be contacted. If it's your phone that's lost, enter a friend's phone number.
3. Uber will call the number you enter to connect you directly with your driver
If your driver picks up and confirms that your item has been found, coordinate a mutually convenient time and place to meet for its return to you.
If your driver doesn't pick up, leave a detailed voicemail describing your item and the best way to contact you.
Be considerate that your driver's personal schedule will be affected by taking time out to return your item to you. A $15 fee (in US) is charged to your account once your lost item is returned. Drivers are independent contractors and this is to compensate them for their time. The entire fee is passed on to the driver.

You can phone or text him. Or go to Help in the Rider App.
or drive to one of those Uber offices. greenlight offices?
I left a bag behind by mistake y am I getting charged for them to bring it back that's messed up I pissed off
The $15 is supposed to compensate for the driver's time. It's usually considered reasonable to retrieve your bag or cell phone. I mean, people would usually pay a lot more to retrieve those items, I mean, you should count your blessings. You'd be pretty upset if your driver never returned those items.
I do feel like sometimes $15 for a $8 ride and 10 minutes of your driver to be expensive. It's weird how there is no range whatsoever, then again, we don't want to over complicate these things.
Perhaps if the people were actually nice and were tipping the drivers for their time, Uber wouldn't have had to force these charges.
I left $100 in the Uber supposed to bring me my money or take it to an office
Kiss that $100 goodbye. No way you'll get that back.
When you lose something, you can text or call the driver. The driver can bring it to you and this triggers a $15 lost item recovery fee, which gets charged to your previous ride.
The driver can also drop off lost items at the Uber office as well. If you open a support ticket with Uber, they will direct you on where to go get it.
...but with Cash? that'll be a tough one to recover....
I left $100 in my Uber was he supposed to bring it and is there a office?
My driver isn't giving back my phone. Demanding ransom.
Uber knows. It's been a few days, and I am freaking out.
It's one of those he-said-she-said situations. Uber won't be able to do anything.
