I'm sorry but I don't think this is fair. I had to travel 1.5 hours to get my phone back (a day later I might add - the driver took SO long to get in touch with me). And then Uber charged me a $15 for the driver's inconvenience. I don't see how he was inconvenienced at all...... I met him all the way near his house and paid for the subway to get there. I was going to give him a $5 tip but after that - forget it!
OMGGGGG Uber is SO annoying. I left my phone in the car and had to go an hour and a half to get it. And then they charge me $15! I met him near his house!

Had to laugh at this one. Your dumbass leaves an important expensive item in a strangers car. You complain you have to pay 15.00. Are you serious? It is an inconvenience to the driver. Time is money. I've returned 5 phones, 3 credit cards, and a shirt. I got 2 fees from Uber and a 50.00 tip from one rider as he was grateful I took the time to contact him. The rest of the returns was on my time, no tip from the riders, no fee from Uber. . Your lucky your driver took the time to meet you. Driver could've threw it in sewer like BigFrank said. Be grateful you got it back. "They charge you know matter how much effort you put into get it". Are you serious? It's your phone you left it behind its your responsibility to get it. Why should it be the drivers responsibility and why shouldn't you be charged?
I tell all my passengers please take your belongings if I happen to find something after you leave the car I will throw it out the window so I don't have to hear people like you'll complain and I certainly don't need the $15 and the headache that comes with it
you should have had him drop it off, if you are gonna pay him $15.
I think the $15 goes right to the driver. It is your responsibility to take care of your own belongings, so even though you met the driver, you still have to get your phone!!
Think about it, you could have left your phone in the middle of the street and had the driver not return it at all.. that would be a lot more money than $15
Maybe you should be more responsible and take care of your stuff!! I am uber driver and so many people leave their crap in my car.
I would have covered my camera and THROWN it into the sewer where most tightwads app passengers belong. If I don't find anything valuable that I can turn into cash fast it goes into the garbage .
This happened to me before too. They added a charge whenever you leave an item no matter how much effort you put in to get it.
