Uber is starting to get desperate facing the possibility of their drives becoming employees.
Apparently, the petition comes up in the driver's app that prompts to make them sign the petition.
“When I press to go with Uber, I get a notification and the notification says ‘Protect Driver’s Flexibility’,” explained Al Aloudi, a driver with both Uber and Lyft for eight years. He says the in-app notifications are usually about important issues like money or safety, so drivers check them regularly. (The companies send less urgent messages to drivers’ email.)

Is this really controversial? They can do whatever they want in their own app.
Give drivers their voice. I actually prefer to remain a contractor, thank you. Once we become an employee, they may dictate the hours I drive, where I drive, which rides I can pick up, etc. etc. That would stink.
Totally agree. Employee, No way! They would just raise the rates to what they were 2 yrs ago even a year their problems would go away. They have to know this. They are determined not to give us crap.
