I remembered Uber doing something like this before but never saw it on the app. Now they are doing it again but reserving it for only their top rewards users. I hope they open it up to everyone one day, I obviously wouldn't do this a lot but trying it once with a small group of friends would be awesome!

I love it how Uber can claim anything as long as they say, “top users.”

Think about it. Uber Kittens, Uber Mariachi Band

The bridges are and will always be a bottleneck in Manhattan. With the traffic causing significant delays in people's commutes, I welcome such service provided in larger volumes. Some people's times are definitely worth shelling out a few hundred dollars to miss the 1 hour bridge ride.

Sitting by Hudson or East River, especially downtown, you can see how frequent these chopper services are. If Uber can make it efficient and can provide the means of regular people to start utilizing the service, I think it will be great.

I was just hanging out at Industry Kitchen by Wall Street, and I saw people going back and forth the whole time over Eat River. I basically drank with my colleagues to wait out the traffic but heli would have been nice.

And there's mention of a plane as well. What's up with that?

I can see that's not going to sit well with the helicopter unions

It's 1 hour you get to save not being in traffic.
