- Why did Uber end the possibility of changing a driver's rating if the first done a cell phone was entered improperly?
- Why can't I change a mistaken Uber rating?

You, a rider, used to be able to change your ratings, simply by going back to your email, finding the star icons, and click on it again. However, as you can see on this blog post update, Uber has made it not possible for riders to change their driver rating after submitting it initially.
Please take time to consider the most appropriate rating for the driver's behavior during the trip. We do not change driver ratings once they have been entered into the app. (Uber.com)
We have not heard why this change has been made. Maybe they did it for data management purpose, say to avoid the difficulty in having a data source where any row can be updated at any point. Maybe they realized that some riders were unfarily ranking historical drivers just because of their impression of Uber overall. Maybe a competitor or drivers figured out a way to hack or cheat the system through those emails. Uber does not seem to be giving any clear explanation for this policy change, but we will keep you posted when/if we find out more!

I think this is ridiculous! I mean, I have given the wrong rating multiple times after a late night of drinking, it really is not that hard to push star 3 instead of 5 when your eyes are bugging out. They need to bring this back. The poor drivers.
