When you sign-up with Uber or Lyft, you’re prompted to put in your name, your phone number, your device data, your location information, your credit card information, and more. You’re asked to verify who you are and where you are, and people have started to question…is that safe? Is it okay to have all of my data stored on this type of ridesharing app? Should I Let My College Student Ride in an Uber or Lyft?

Every so often, the world wakes up to horrible news. Sometimes it’s a terrorist attack, sometimes it’s a natural disaster, and most recently it was the tragic death of University of South Carolina student Samantha Josephson. She did something that almost every college student has done.  

She was out with friends in a popular nightlife area when she got separated from her roommates and decided to head home instead of stick around alone in a bar. Josephson called an Uber and climbed into the car that she thought belonged to her driver. Instead, he ended up being her killer. …

RideGuru supports 100+ new Lyft cities

As Uber is battling bad press from the #deleteuber campaign and sexist workplace claims by multiple top level women engineers, Lyft is taking advantage of this opportunity to expand their coverage to over 100 new cities! This has kept the RideGuru team busy over the last few weeks but we have successfully added all new Lyft cities to our fare comparison calculator

According to Lyft, this is just the first wave of its expansion, and by the end of 2017, Lyft will have added a total of 300 cities, which will cover a total of 231 million people. Lyft …
