Are you a frequent Lyft rider looking for ways to plan your travel ahead of time? Lyft recently introduced a feature that allows you to schedule your Lyft ride ahead of time! Here's how.
After opening the Lyft app, enter your current location and your final destination. Then, click on the calendar icon shown above.
The Lyft app will populate a list of times available. You will be given the option to select the time frame that you want to schedule your ride for. After pressing "set pick up time", Lyft will automatically schedule your ride for the desired time.
You can schedule a ride up to 7 days before your desired day of pickup, and if you want to cancel your scheduled ride, Lyft will allow you to cancel without a fee given that you have not already been matched with a driver. If the driver is on the way and you decide to cancel, Lyft will charge you a cancellation fee.
If the "schedule" icon does not appear on your Lyft app, this means that scheduled rides are not available in your area.
Currently the option to schedule your ride for Lyft is only available for standard Lyft rides, and is available in 30 cities across the US.
*UPDATED on February 21st, 2019 to reflect a change in Lyft's scheduled ride policies.

What is Lyft "CLASSIC" referred to in the article?
Lyft Classic is the standard, orginal Lyft option.
I’ve downloaded the Lyft app to my iPhone and there’s no icon to set a time or schedule a ride in the future.
Very disappointing. I’ve deleted the app and redownloaded thinking I may have an old app. Still no luck.
I find the same thing. No icon to set a day or time. I may try to download a new version if there is one.
Thank you for confirming my problem.
Is there a number to call LYFT?
Unfortunately, Lyft's scheduled rides are only available in about 30 cities across the US. If scheduled rides are available in your area, you will see the clock icon next to the field where you enter your pick up location. If scheduled rides are not available in your area then the icon will not be available for you to use.
Thank you for giving us the heads up! We were just wondering the same thing....so far it's not in the vancouver washington area.....yet......
It could be the coverage in your city. This feature is only available in certain cities. (i.e. 30 across US)
When I go to the Lyft app, I get a screen with my name and a question "Where are youj going?". How do I get to the screen with the clock to schedule ahead?
I have hit the "Where are you going icon that brings up a screen that has my address at the top and a "Search destination" under my address, but no clock to schedule ahead. What am I missing?
