Uber commissions capped at 25%, no upfront pricing, exact destination on each trip before accepting a ride, old surge multiplier is back, no AR restrictions etc.

Uber is Making Big Changes in California for Drivers! Is all this due to CA AB5?
I welcome these changes over the past month culminating with commission caps at 25%, showing destination, bringing the old surge …
Absolutely, they wanted their 15 minutes of fame I guess. I'm sure they're deactivated already. Walk on snow, don't leave any footsteps. The passengers getting ripped off never gets enough press, they all think the driver is swimming in money because of what they paid to Uber/Lyft, of course no tip.
Please, take a look at the article I have written for RSG, I have screenshots of how Uber & Lyft are ripping the passenger off.
Think of what a knock that is on uber's reliability boasts. If a few drivers can manipulate the platform that easily, what does that say about reliability? With the flat rate surge which is an oxymoron, they charge the pax 2x surge rate and pay the driver 3.50 bonus, what a crock. They'll burn in hell. Their algorithms won't allow it anyway or they're full of crap.
https://therideshareguy.com/uber-drivers-manipulating-surge/
An ant for deactivation? Are you serious? These shady, unethical companies need a solid break check, they will burn in hell.
😆, I am the senior contributor for RSG and Rideguru, I've been pounding U/L for years. I'm still an active driver, I thought I'd be deactivated long time ago. The truth will set you free.
Uber and Lyft full of crap as usual. They feed the main stream media all their lies and these idiots run stories without checking facts. They have managed their PR campaign perfectly. Why do UBER stories outnumber driver stories 10-1?
Please, I urge you to read the article in the link attached. I'm the senior contributor for RSG (the Rideshare Guy, most well known blog in the country) and also will be writing about this subject for Rideguru newsroom next week since I'm collaborating with them on a weekly basis as well.
Drivers can't manipulate the surge, UBER and Lyft algorithms won't allow it. The story was hot in the news, it's time for the truth to come out. Not the crap main stream media puts out as a PR campaign after getting fed by UBER and Lyft. Uber and Lyft charge you surge/prime time but keep it all to themselves. It's proven in the article.
Check out Part I as well in the Rideguru Newsroom. Thanks
Thank you I did, I am the senior contributor for RSG (the Rideshare Guy) and I will be writing weekly pieces for Rideguru. Come back and check them out, interesting subjects to be discussed.
I'm 100% with you, that's exactly what RDU is, otherwise as a driver, I wouldn't choose to support it. Go take a look at their site, they're the ones who organized the strikes in L.A. on May 8.
The problem with U/L is that they sell you flexibility, you can't trade that in fir your humanity. What flexibility? You're in the mercy of an AI computer with an algorithm. What kind of IC is that? Try calling a plumber tomorrow and tell them you'll say what the job is, how much they're going to get paid after they show up and finish the job, you'll hear the hang up tone.
AB5 is the only deterring factor for U/L steamroller to stop crushing your wallet. If it is going to force them to the table, so be it. Bring it on!
Nothing in the bill says any of what Uber and Lyft are spreading, read about it, then make a judgement. Don't believe in U/L coercion, bullying and lies.
There’s a glitch regarding editing titles, I told them already, hopefully they’ll fix it. Read my articles, you’ll get a lot out of them.
Here's a link for the RDU, Rideshare Drivers United, check out their bill of rights.

When UBER x started in July on 2013, the rates were $5 to start amd $3.75 a mile, today in Los Angeles, we're at 60/21. $1-$1.25 is not enough, I would take 70% of cabs. Around the country cabs average $2.75 a mile and 40 cents a minute for congestion.
In my state of CA dashcam are a rarity due to its complex legal structure. The cancel and explain option showed up on the Uber driver app only a couple of months ago. Rides with minors are always short rides, JUST SAY NO! There are apps to handle that now, like ZUM and Hop Skip & Drive.
AB5 did not pass, it passed the committee that sent it to the Appropriation Committee then it'll be discussed in the CA Senate floor then it'll be up for a vote at the end of August.
https://therideshareguy.com/what-would-happen-if-drivers-became-employees/
Here's my take on the anti AB5 and pro AB5 rallies that took place last couple of days. I personally don't want to be an employee of either shady, unethical outfit but someone, something has to check these companies.
https://therideshareguy.com/the-battle-for-ab5-heats-up-in-california/
Because they are selling a 50 can't burger for a nickel. Passengers are in a subsidized fantasy land so is uber and Lyft. Their business model is flawed, they'll never make money.
Requires cleaning fee receipts you mean? Yes they're very stingy on paying out now, it's best you don't have anyone puke in your car.
We don't know the destination until the pax is in the car and we start the ride. We see the pick-up spot on the map in the background, not the exact address, rider's rating, what type of ride it is, x or pool, estimate of the duration and distance of the pick-up address (almost always wrong) for 8 seconds on the ping screen. Once we accept the ride, we're told exactly where the pick-up address is. Experience and knowing your city plays a big role in what ride to accept and which to pass on.
There were some characters trying to game the system but out if 2 million drivers, I'd say they're probably a handful. Uber cut the cleanup fees to $150 and started requiring professional cleaning receipts for reimbursement. So it's not as easy as the main stream media makes it out to be.
