Uber trying something new yet again. Not supposed to affect drivers earrnings. Wouldn't it be nice if Uber came out with something to help drivers earn more. Maybe stop hiring more new drivers. Make promotions more profitable and achievable. Restructure the rating system. Do better background checks that in itself would probable knock out a good number of drivers. People would be safer and maybe there wouldn't be all these lawsuits.

It is a bit weird how you have to pay for a discounted rate. Really bizarre.
Uber tends to put stuff out there for both riders and drivers to make themselves look good. That they care. In the end its all BS. Anything they offer a driver comes with a price. It makes us accept more trips, stay on road longer, etc. .. Nothing they offer really helps a rider or driver.
Stringing us along until they can build an autonomous vehicles that don’t driver over people.

This sounds like a half-ass response to Lyft's subscription services.
Dara was asked the same question around how many drivers there should be. His response was that if they have more drivers, more riders will use Uber and in the end there will be plenty of money for the drivers.
I dunno. Sounds like a circular logic.
Dont trust him anymore than Travis. Not much has changed. Any driver will tell you how there pay has declined. For a few reasons. At least for me it has been not as many trip request. The cities are saturated with drivers.
Well said momof4. They definately need to do better background checks. Too many sketchy drivers out there. Uber would avoid some of their lawsuits if they did better checks most definately. Uber should also meet face to face with a potential driver as some of these drivers are crazy. It also stinks when driver knows no English what so ever. Very diffucult to communicate
I feel your pain with the language barrier especially when driver gets lost. Many of my passengers have had similar issues with drivers that dont speak English.
