Taxi drivers usually lease their taxis so they can just swap to driving ubers instead. (assuming they have access to a car). It's the taxi companies that are struggling the most.
Makes sense. Uber and its ilk have simply increased the supply of drivers, law of supply and demand takes over.
Yep, Uber's fares are so low and the company takes 20-25% of each fare making the drivers earning potential extremely low. It will be interesting to see where it all levels out one day.
