Why is it the norm for passengers to always sit in the back. I would prefer that they sit in the front actually, just makes me feel more comfortable.

As a driver I prefer not to have anyone in the front seat. I feel like the front should be reserved for me. that'ts my space.
The sad thing is people expect the front seat to be open and available now. That counts as one of the spaces available. Say UberBlack with FOUR person capacity.
@Chris If I had a single passenger and he sat in the front seat, I'd assume he were up to no good.
what if someone sat directly behind you? and was holding a rope? LOL.
My friend who drives for Uber once told me that he hates it when a single passenger decides to sit in the seat directly behind his. It freaks him out.
Freaks him out because of those driver ghost stories.
I am a driver and I like my personal space. I am a friendly guy, but we are not friends.
In some countries it is the norm for riders to sit up front and is actually seen as rude if they get in the back!
I always though this was the opposite - that drivers liked to have their front seat empty for all their belongings.
