As a driver, I've had quite a few passengers ask me "what was your craziest Uber story" and I'm very happy to say, I've only had one "bad" experience and I sometimes share that tale of woe but I'm confident there are some GREAT stories amongst the drivers, especially those that work the 2AM bar crowd in the cities.
When I'm a passenger, I often will say (without them knowing that I'm a driver too), "well, I know you aren't doing this because it's making you independently wealthy, so why do you feel you're doing this"?
That quesiton has garnered some interesting responses.
Somebody should start the "What is your craziest Uber story" thread.
I started one called The Night in the Life of an Uber driver. Please share your story. There are a few stories on there that are good.
Well...the "craziest story" doesn't have to be a bad story...
Fersur!
I can tell you what not to ask a female driver. If you are a male rider, don't start conversation with, do you ever worry about picking men up? Do you ever worry your rider may try to touch you or grab you? Do you worry that a man wont take no for answer and keep hitting on you? Do you worry a rider could kidnap you or hold you hostage? Do you carry anything to protect yourself? Why are you asking me that? What are you planning on doing ? Are you trying to find out what I will use on you before you try to kill me:) Yes, I've been asked all these questions. It's creepy especially while driving down a dark road late at night. Of course you think why are they asking me this? What are they planning to do? Don't ask your driver for phone number or hit on them. I find with my riders asking about music preference sparks great conversation with any age. You can ask driver if they have any special hobbies or interests? Do they like to travel? Where they&…

Where they've been? I always get what's your crazest Uber story? Don't mind that. You can ask female drivers if they have kids most will love to talk about there kids.

"Is this your only job?" and "is this your full time job" seem like okay questions to me. no?
I like your suggestions though special hobbies, music interests, travel stories. All great candidates
IMO, the "craziest uber stories" are always the best! :)
Is this your only job or is this your only full time job is annoying because its asked all the time. Sometimes its the way people ask it. Many people look down at you for doing this male or female. Thats why that ? annoys me:) Sorry I am answering 10 months later. Lol Just noticed your post.

I thought you were going elsewhere when you started with "what not to ask a woman". Like age, where they live, what they do to protect themselves, and other creepy lines.
I am happy you made a comment. I must have never proof read that one. Needed to fix it:) Some of my post didnt even make sense. Probably did it while i was waiting for a ride got a request and just hit post. Thanks
should I give you my $100 tip in a 100-dollar bill or would you like smaller denominations?
Hahaha.
As a passenger you would like to start a go fund me page for all the tightwads who did not tip me.
This question got me kind of stumped. I thought i'd have good ones, but I really don't.
"How are you?"
No. May just ask for the most awful passenger. They must have lots of those stories. Just make sure you don't become one.
"What's the most eff'd up thing you've seen while on the job"
If they have ever had any weird supernatural experiences driving late at night.
"Awesome" things, huh. That's quite a lot you are asking for.
I'd say crack a joke.
Please do not distract the driver. Let them do their job.
I feel like I am teaching an android on how to be a human Dude, just have a regular conversation. You start with something that you can ease into, and you just let it flow from there.
You can start with weather and how busy your day was but those usually don't go anywehere. Ask quesitons like, "Are you from this area?" "Did you grow up here?" or something more specific like, "Do you enjoy driving for Uber?"
Why do you think that Millennials are the most tightest tightwads I have ever seen in my entire life on this planet
It's the different flavors of entitlement that you are absorbing. The flavor you are seeing is, "I am a customer and you are not. You need to treat me well and that is expected."
You make no sense and you should lay off the bongo pipe.
"What country are you from?"
At least with the taxi drivers, this always brings up great conversations.
Didn't someone ask this once?
Everyone said weather. I guess the context of this question matters. What are you trying to accomplish? Have a good conversation? Trying to shut them up? Trying to get a juicy story?
