Why does the Lyft driver app ask you if your car has leather seats?

Not to mention it's infinitely easier to clean.  I feel all drivers should have it. Just wipe and go.  It helps on rainy days, after driving pets, any accidents, etc.  Fabric is WAY too much of a liability.

Depending on the car model, leather seating is a determining factor in being a "Select" Driver.  The auto list is very narrow that qualifies, and those auto's that do must also have leather seating surfaces.

I haven't seen that inquiry, but it must be due to identifying whether your car fits into another category. Like a level of service.

or maybe for covid safety. Leather is easier to clean by simply wiping.

Isn't there a slightly better Lyft service that requires leather seats? Could it be for that reason?
