We are always working hard to make sure our fare estimates on RideGuru are accurate and up to date. With that, comes adding new companies who are trying to make their mark on the ridesharing industry. This week we added 4 new rideshare companies to our RideGuru Fare Comparison Calculator. Take a look below to learn about each new company.
TappCar is a Canadian based ridehailing company. Tappcar’s main belief and mission is that when drivers win, we all win, and as such they claim to properly insure and take care of their drivers, leaving their riders with a higher quality of service and a safer ride. TappCar currently provides their full-time drivers with insurance and health benefits as well as training in smartphone use and customer satisfaction. TappCar is also unique in that they allow you to book your ride not only through their smartphone application but online as well, which is quite helpful for those who may not currently have a smartphone. TappCar is currently available in Edmonton and Calgary, Canada.
Fare is a local Austin, TX rideshailing company. Fare brands themselves as a ride-hailing platform that allows riders to schedule rides with local professional drivers. Fare’s distinctive feature is that riders are able to schedule rides with drivers they know and trust instead of getting a random driver for every ride. Fare cars can be scheduled up to 7 days in advance or can be ordered for immediate pickup. Fare is currently only available in Austin, TX.
Jozibear 24/7 is a ridehailing application based in South Africa. The application connects professional licensed drivers with riders searching for a ride. Most ridesharing applications limit payment to a credit card processed through the app but Jozi Bear riders have the option of paying with either a credit card or cash at the end of their ride. JoziBear is available in multiple cities through South Africa, including but not limited to Cape Town, Durban, and Johannesburg.
Stroll Guam is a ridehailing service based in Guam. Like most ridehailing services, riders can hail a car and then watch their driver travel to their pick-up destination via the app. At the end of the ride, the application will charge the rider the cost of the fare via the credit or debit card the rider has put on file. One thing that impresses the RideGuru team about Stroll Guam is that they work with college students at the University of Guam and at Guam Community College to help them pay off their student debt through a driving proogram. Stroll Guam is currently only available in Guam.
