Uber Travel

Uber is expanding their options once again, adding travel and charter services to their product slate. Uber’s latest additions are furthering their ambition to expand beyond their core ride-hailing business.

The first of the two new options, Uber Travel, lets you reserve rides for each leg of your travel itinerary in one fell swoop. By connecting your Gmail account to your Uber account, Uber will organize your hotel, flight, and restaurant reservations for you in one easy to find place. Further, you will earn 10% back in Uber Cash for each ride you book with Uber Travel. Uber Travel is currently available in the US and will be arriving in Canada with the next month as well.

The second newest option is Uber Charter which is set to launch over the summer. Uber Charter will allow users to book a variety of buses and large vans. This new option geared towards large groups will offer party buses, charter buses, and passenger vans all with upfront pricing. This option will be great for anyone looking to book transportation for a wedding, work event, or even a fun day at the vineyards! While Uber Charter isn’t available yet, Uber says that when it is ready in your city you will see a new “Charter Icon” within your Uber app.

"After two years of pandemic living, 2022 is looking like a sea change. One of the busiest travel seasons is upon us, a record-breaking number of weddings will be held this year, and climate is at the center of the global conversation," CEO Dara Khosrowshahi wrote in the announcement, which also mentioned a variety of other new services, including increased ‘Uber One’ perks, the availability of Uber Eats in select stadiums, and the new ability to hail electric vehicles through a feature called "Comfort Electric."
