Uber just recently announced that they are expanding the area where drivers can set their own rates to include San Francisco, Modesto, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo. Uber allowing drivers to set their own rates for trips began as an experiment in January in Sacramento, Santa Barbara and Palm Springs. Before January, drivers in these areas had no control over the rates.

Uber to Enter into Grocery Delivery

In another step towards delivery domination, Uber introduced their newest venture, grocery delivery. This news comes right after Uber acquired Postmates, an online restaurant and goods delivery service, for $2.65 billion.

Uber Grocery Delivery will initially only be available in select cities in Latin America and Canada with plans to roll out in Miami, FL and Dallas, TX later this month. In order to bring customers grocery delivery services, Uber is collaborating with Cornershop, an established grocery delivery app. Uber users will be able to order their groceries through both the Uber and Uber Eats apps.
