New Uber and Lyft Pickup Location at Dulles International Airport

While having to walk away from the terminal curb to catch your rideshare is common practice now at some airports, Dulles International Airport just made the switch this weekend. The curbside traffic at Dulles was getting out of hand and as a result officials created a new curb pickup location dedicated solely for rideshare pickups.

Jerome L Davis, the executive vice president and chief revenue officer at the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, is hopeful that this new solution will “help relieve future airport roadway congestion and simplify the process for connecting passengers with their driver”.

Will Uber and Lyft Really Pull Out of California this Week?

Uber and Lyft are threatening to halt their ridesharing service in California after a judge rejected the companies’ effort to delay an order that forces the companies to classify drivers as employees. The popular ridesharing companies were given 10 days to reclassify their drivers in California as employees which according to Uber and Lyft is near impossible. The deadline to reclassify is now only 3 days away, August 20th, and Uber and Lyft have said that if they are forced to stick with this deadline that they will need to “go dark” in California for some time.

Uber is Opening Hubs and Handing Out Covid Supplies (Here is how to claim yours!)

Are Uber Hubs Open? What is Uber doing to ensure driver safety? Can I talk to an Uber representative?

Uber has recently decided to open 33 Greenlight Hubs around the country in order to better distribute Covid-19 safety supplies to its drivers. Uber will be mainly offering face masks to drivers but some hubs have additional supplies available such as safety placards and cleaning products. All products are being given to drivers for free.

Free Coronavirus Safety Training for NYC Uber & Lyft Drivers

With federal unemployment benefits expiring many drivers are expected to return to work soon. With the anticipation of many new drivers hitting the road again, public health researchers at New York University in partnership with the Independent Drivers Guild are launching a Coronavirus safety training course for all rideshare drivers.
