Uber: A bad week to go public
What a hellish week for Uber.On Sunday, President Trump surprised investors by threatening to impose higher tariffs on China … -
Do Uber/Lyft drivers mind if you sit in the front seat if you are the only passenger?

Can I bring a friend, an additional passenger, on UberPool? (carpool option)

Is Uber available / allowed at Newark Airport?
How common is rideshare insurance? Do most insurers offer them? All states? I keep hearing I can just stay on my current personal policy, so curious what all the fuss is about.
This is where Uber's user accountability comes into play. No one is a stranger in the world of Uber where we know who the drivers are and who the riders are. If you ever find drugs in that package, this person will be busted for sure.
What's steak over shoulders.
Second? Isn't this the first? Finally they meet!
That's neat they got the buy-in from Coca Cola.
A new channel that scales said so well
"Cargo offers an innovative solution to helping Coca-Cola deliver refreshment to consumers in their moment of need in a space that was previously hard to reach at scale," he said in an emailed statement."
If Cargo can control the margin and also keep the prices low, (not like airplane food or ballpark candy where a candy bar is $4.50), then we have something.
That looks super safe.
$5 an hour?! No frickin' way. That's cheaper than a Home Depot pickup truck.
Yeah, this is actually not easy on the app
I love Uber's defense. "We are technology company and people just use our software. It's not us that's wrong; it's the drivers who use it that's wrong."
Well, SoftBank has a huge stake in Uber now, so who knows.
Suggestion: Make people rate it in decimal stars. Let the selections be a 10 point scale from 4.0 to 4.9. Problem solved.
Is this true---->"Line usually attracts pretty friendly and social people, so this is rare. "
Nope. Whoever did this Q&A had an idealistic view of their customers in general.
You can't be saying Lyft is making money, are you? LOL.
Yeah, but the fact that other ridehare services try to compete but keep shutting their doors pretty much prove that at the current cost model, rideshare companies cannot make a profit.
I mean...does anyone know whow Lyft is doing? I guess they are highly leveraged as well with big backers.
How did this driver not have money for tolls? I mean, that's ok, but he just blew through them? Who does that?
Actually, this is a thing. Drivers do get calls from disgruntled drivers from passengers who abuse this "Lost Item" thing. Isn't that messed up?
It's a feature that's there for convenience. This helpful thing where people in stress and panic and some weirdos ruin it by using it for BS.
I'd think they'd steal less on an UberPool. i would imagine that people would behave better with other strangers around.
Thank you for this post. I feel like Lyft does just enough to hide this fact that you can bring a friend. We talked about this among my frieds, but we all said, "ah, whatever. why bother."
This bus analogy reminds me of how the Chinatown buses (Fang Wah in Boston) got busted for operating their bus services off the streets. They (for years) were violating city ordinances for creating make-shift bus stops to pick up people. Now they operate out of South Station, which forced them to compete with the likes of Bolt Bus, Mega Bus and Greyhound.
I guess Uber breaking laws and regulations is nothing new.
Wouldn't it be retalitory if the rider rates a driver low due to the low rating? This works both ways.
