Can I contact my driver after the trip is completed? I want to get in touch with him.
Can I contact my Uber and Lyft driver after the ride is over?
The Guru Take
For Lost Items, yes. You have 24 hours.
This depends on for what reason you want to contact the driver. If it's for a lost item, you can go to the app, bring up the ride history, and you should have an bility to contact the driver. Make sure to do it as soon as you can to increase the chance of recovery, as after 24 hours, you will no longer be able to connect direcrly with the driver. After that period, you have to contact Uber and Lyft. Here's more info on how:
How do I contact the Uber driver or Uber about a lost item?
Just so you are aware, the driver contact information that appears on your phone are all proxies, meaning that they are not real phone numbers. They are only active from the time the driver accepts the ride until the trip is completed. After that, those numbers will not work.
If for any other reason, you want to contact the drivers (beside losing an item), you should go through Uber or Lyft.

This opens up a whole world of possibilities for riders who want to contact drivers afterwards...by pretending to have lost an item.
Actually, this is a thing. Drivers do get calls from disgruntled drivers from passengers who abuse this "Lost Item" thing. Isn't that messed up?
It's a feature that's there for convenience. This helpful thing where people in stress and panic and some weirdos ruin it by using it for BS.
I drive for Lyft and I can vouch for this. It's crappy. This happens often after a no-show from a customer who is pissed I couldn't find him. I feel like once the rider has been cancelled, the switchboard should stop working immediately, but they seems to get through all the time.
It looks like others thing riders are harassing the drivers, but couldn't it be friendly or a pick-up?
Wait, now I am intrigued. Are you trying to contact the driver for other reasons, say because you found him (or her) attractive? Slightly creepy, but I am sure that happens.
