Uber's New Feature - can't use when drunk

Are Uber drivers threatened by those dockless bicycles? UberBIKEs, Jump
I am starting to see them all over the place, and I hear there is already a fierce competition in … -
If you were the new CEO of Uber, with absolute power, what would be the first thing you'd change?
I am asking the current Uber drivers, but anyone's welcome.
especially post-covid. No one's taking Ubers anymore. Crumbling industry.
They say this every time a company goes public with a large volume of stock options. The potential sales is all considered in the IPO price as well as analysts' forecasts. An article like this gets clicks and it's basically customary for journalists to release these every time a high-profile IPO happens.
Wise advice.
Well, she does have the right to ask. ;) The driver may say no, but she can still verbalize the request.
Well, for one, to improve the current taxi companies. They still exist, you know. :)
One major area of this industry people look over is the over-bloated dispatching services. These phone-based call centers are inefficient and no one likes them.
With an Uber like app, maybe smaller taxi markets (maybe those without Uber) can equip themselves better.
Wall Street not happy? Wall Street created this.
I don't think they "signed" anything. It was some cleverly situated popups and buttons those drivers pressed. That's their argument.
sorta old news. Amazon has been leading in this arena. If they can deliver a million products on Amazon marketplace, they better be able to ship my burrito to my location. house, car, wherever.
Well, Uber had to protect themselves, right? Think these scenarios
- The driver signs up but only works few hours a day.
- The driver is out on the road but only in secluded areas where there's no demand.
See, the problem is that there are literally like a million drivers out there. Haven't you heard the news that they are trying to reduce the number of drivers in many areas now?
I just want to get to my destination, so... Driver Availability probably.
With the new Nissan and a thick bullet-proof barrier, you can’t hear the guy anyway.
What about all those parking tickets? They seem to be piled up while they are delivering packages in downtown Chicago. I mean, that's just understood, right? They obviously do that because it'd be cheaper to pay the tickets than actually paying for parking.
Yes, the business and how they'll run it will change at the time of IPO. Before IPO, the goal was to GROW. Artificially keep the rates low and get the rides to sign up. After IPO, the goal will be to make money.
The fight over the market share between Lyft and Uber will not be over, but both companies will be required and under pressure to show their investors they can make money...and best of all profits.
They can't do that at the current rates. We all know that.
This is hilarious., but dangerous.
This would ding the driver so hard. They wait in the queue for so long and they would get a $3 ride from one terminal to another. Ha! You'd also incur an airport usage fee. I don't think this is a good idea.
I heard about O'Hare having some issues with their people movers. I thought they are providing continuous shuttle buses. I didn't realize there restricted hours. https://www.flychicago.com/ohare/ServicesAmenities/services/Pages/ATS.aspx
Where are you guys finding these very driver specific items. That’s hilarious. I mean, so it’s so specific. O let people who’ll buy these are Uber/Lyft drivers. What else are there in this store.
Well, you know why it isn't. It's because if a driver knows that there will be a long pickup fee, he or she will spend a long time driving around just to score a higher pay.
I beg to differ. He looks pretty tough to me.
All you guys are assuming this was a vulnerable frail 87 year old, but he could have been a large, strong brute. I mean, this looks like a tough intimidating man.
"What happened next is a matter of dispute. The driver says Kayserman berated and threatened him. Kayserman dismisses the notion."
I actually believe the driver in this case. See, the age isn't the issue here.
