Here's a new PASSENGER SCAM that I suspect is happening.
Imagine a rider who has a fairly large group and maybe some luggage. They aren't sure they can fit into an UberX (or UberBlack). They are too cheap to order the larger size, i.e. UberSUV.
So they would request an UberX, and when they are matched up with a UberX, they would cancel. Then they try again...until they are matched up with someone with a larger car.
UBER! You hide all kinds of pax information away from us. Maybe you should hide our vehicle information from the passengers?

are we on to something here? Yeah, perhaps drivers' information should also be hidden from the passengers. I can come up with a bunch of rider scams off of this.
Yes. Why aren't there cosumer laws that provide driver identities? Uber drivers are independent contractors and needs to be protected like any regular consumers.
Wait, hold on. Those providing services should be identified, so there is accountability in place. Imagine the safety aspect and the benefit of Uber. Riders trust it because drivers are known and are real people. Don't let it go back to dark ages where they were complete strangers.
I am not saying that we keep anonymous the whole time. It's just when the request is out there. Don't reveal driver identiy until we are matched up... wait. no . I guess it already does that.. Then until you get in the car... or does that defeat the purpose?

I drive an XL. I don't mind these passengers. I just put in a request with Uber and they bump up the price. No problem.
Oh, sorry. I guess it sucks for UberX drivers... I am so insensitive.
Lets hope that while they are on the highway and the door flies open and somone becomes roadkill for a big rig. Hopefully that should the scummie scam passengers

For wasting my time I would get out of the car and discreetly spray my ASS LIQUID one one of them and then leave quickly
Oh,yeah 100%. I know this happens. I have had users tell me, completely proud and clueless as to what they did is wrong. The case I have seen isn't with luggage but more for large parties.
Weekends, after a bar close. They have 5 people, and they know they won't fit in a sedan, UberX. So they keep trying to get an SUV.
What they don't know is that we can deny the ride or have Uber fix the price retroactively.
wait, what? Uber will fix that? like to UberXL pricing?
