I actually want new drivers to take this as an advice. Don't pick up crappy riders. Cancel immediately.
This technically isn't cancelling a ride mid-ride, but I went to the mall to go pick up this woman on a Thursday night. There was some traffic and some confusion as to which exit she was waiting. When I pulled up, she started berating me for being late and started to nag. I knew this would be a $5.00 1-star ride. So you know what I did? I told her to get out of the car and cancelled it. Don't need this crap.
Why is this a good advice? Because if you don't start the ride, those crappy passengers cannot give you a 1-star rating.
no judgemnt here.
college dorm? next to your bud light lamp?
Natural course of things. Taxis are trailing long lines clogging up DIA, while no one even gets in line for them.
That's unfortunate the government said allowing rideshares at DIA won't impact for them. Obviously the market decides which mode of transportation people would take.
That is pretty cool that it works in all Uber cities. Does it work with your Uber app or does it handle the transactions too?
What's it say on the sign?
WiFi hotspot. You are an overachiever. Genius though.
Name+"5 stars" Brilliant.
I have never paid attention. I am an old hag and I cannot tell how old people are... I mean...I thought the idea is that all Uber users are at least 18 and hence legal to be taking rides. I figured Uber is doing that vetting for me, so I don't have to worry. Right?
...and I assume at least there's one 18+ in the car, all is good, right?
I don't mean to sound like this douche but what the heck is the bug? The suspense is killing me.
How was she getting the notifications? Just logged into the account once but still kept getting them after logged out?
how soon until dallas blocks uber like Austin.
if you told us which city, we may haev an opinion!
Oh, boy. they are looking for a bailout. I have to say, it must have been unnerving to see the value of their nest-egg plummet.
"Boston medallion owners want a bailout from the city or the state, accusing officials of failing to protect the system they bought into in good faith — and often at great expense — from competition they claim is illegal. They decried Uber’s aggressive expansion and lobbying tactics, saying the company brazenly broke the law but bought its way out of trouble with political donations."
Why are taxi drivers complaining? Just go download an app and start driving an UberX. If you can't defeat them, join them!!
Don't own cars? There are many services that will rent you a car to drive an uber,...plus this is exactly why uber is working on having their rent-a-fleet, right? makes sense to me. just ditch the monopoly of a taxi industry
wat. I thought they already allowe Uberx. how is that different than my uncle picking me up in his camry?
I am a driver, but I am thinking riders just wanna get to where they want to? No? I do provide water and charging cables, but that's it. Oh, I bought tose mint lifesavers once, and I will admit that was popoular.
I always drive at 4:45AM on Mondays. I can grab a few surges and make good money. If I feel like it, I also get out Thursday nights around midnight, Saturday at 2AM, and few other areas. I actually have like ten of these timesots, wheremy phone reminds me to go out. I don't always go out, but I do so I can make extra cash. All drivers become familiar with when the surges may occur. Some keep it a secret, some share openly. lol
wait, wat. I haven't heard anything. Why am I hearing about this in the news before I hear about it from my employer? Laughable.
Am I really getting paid? Do I get the difference of what they promised vs. what I actually made? I am gonna be rich!
I would just laugh. and laugh. and laugh some more. I wouldn't even be worried.
We do need to define whether this is Uber or Uber X, I agree. I drive the Uber Black and I don't get or expect tip, to be honest with you. I think it's the difference in clientele.
It's weird how we are defining this tip thing now. Do you think the same discussion happened many years ago in America with waitors and waitresses?
Uber squashed the law makers in the USA, but that doesn't meant you can repeat that everywhere else.
too much paper trail, right? GPS, people's phone. Isn't this why it's hard to argue Uber's safety claims?
