Is it impolite not to make small talk with your driver?
I never really know. I kind of like to just chill out and surf my phone or something in the …
There will be Uber drivers working on Christmas. I guarantee it. The thing is, this is exactly what Uber's surge pricing is designed to ensure. If too few drivers are working, compared to the number of people looking for rides, Uber will enact surge pricing, which encourages more drivers to get out and drive. So Christmas could be a really lucrative day for drivers. BUT. If that happens, you may have to pay more due to the surge. So be prepared for that.
I am not sure about wifi on that street as I'm not from Memphis, but do you not have a phone with cellular data?
As for rates, try using RideGuru's calculator to see. It is hard to know what the surge might be that day, but you can experiment with the +/- arrows on the left to see how it would affect the price.
I think it depends where you are. I don't drive anymore but I used to drive for both, and I think a lot of drivers do that, which means they should be kind of equally reliable. As a rider I tend to open both apps and see which one is closer. In my area it can really go either way.
I would recommend installing both apps first, and creating accounts. Then you should be all set. Most places that are at least semi-populated in this country have pretty good rideshare coverage, but having both apps ups your chances.
I don't think there is any way to ensure this, since even a brand new uber driver could have bought a used car that has had a smoker in it.
However, if I were to guess I would say most cars these days have been kept smoke free. But if you have severe reactions I don't really know what to tell you. I don't think it can be guaranteed.
This is fascinating. I mean, it's a really great example of the law of unintented consequences, isn't it?
But it also sucks.
LOL, I didn't think of it that way.
Interesting idea!
I don't really get why it's a 5-star scale, if 4.6 is considered borderline. You're basically supposed to rate the driver a 5 if they meet expecations, right? So if you rate 4 or below, that's basically a thumbs down. Why would I rate a 2 rather than a 3? Why make users have to make that decision. It should just be a thumbs up or thumbs down system.
nice to see uber having to fight a little.
Weelll.. to be fair, he was probably freaking out and not thinking straight. Especially since he knew he didn't have a license and was in deep doo doo.
Come ON. There is no way in heck this is happening. Give me a break. It's good to have dreams but come on. 2 years is NOTHING.
I assme it was on someone's foot when they got in the car so maybe it wasn't that much. Maybe he had the windows open or something.
Good riddance.
Nice, where do the passengers ride? On the handlebars like when we were kids?
People who need it know.
I don't see why it would be immoral, but why are you doing it? It's going to be so much time for such a small supplement to your income. Seems weird to me.
TBH this sounds like a fake made up quote.
Jesus. Do we get to ride for free then?
I think it's funny that these companies have been stuck in this price war for so long, finally cities are starting to be like "...ummm... you guys need to cut this out. sorry."
What are you afraid of?
Wow. If they were doing so poorly, they shouldn't have been allowed on public roads! If you can't go 13 miles without someone stepping in to save the day, you're not ready for prime time.
